Job Summary
The Facility Officer will oversee the ongoing management and upkeep of the hospital’s physical infrastructure, equipment, and utilities to guarantee that all facilities are secure, operational, fully compliant with regulatory standards, and optimized to support the delivery of exceptional healthcare services.
Overseeing the consistent upkeep and scheduled maintenance of the hospital’s infrastructure and amenities ensures a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Delivers a comprehensive range of tasks encompassing a variety of operational, administrative, and logistical functions integral to the smooth functioning of the department. Handles scheduling, coordination, and execution of daily activities to ensure alignment with organizational objectives while maintaining adherence to established policies and procedures. Manages documentation, reporting, and record-keeping responsibilities to uphold accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to facilitate seamless communication, streamline workflows, and enhance overall productivity. Requires proficiency in relevant software systems, strong organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail to support efficient operations and contribute to the achievement of departmental goals.
The role involves delivering assistance to the facility manager, with responsibility for organizing and overseeing both regular and scheduled maintenance of the hospital’s infrastructure and amenities.
Oversee unanticipated maintenance, repair, and restoration activities for the facility, with a primary focus on HVAC systems.
Monitor and oversee the completion of contracted work to ensure it meets the agreed-upon standards, promptly addressing and resolving any deficiencies that arise.
The position involves delivering assistance to the facility manager in addressing concerns associated with ASH (Occupational Health and Safety) infection control protocols, waste management procedures, and other essential facility health and safety standards.
Compile weekly and monthly reports detailing facility activities, ensuring documentation of ASH hazards, incidents, near-miss events, and related support. Additionally, prepare risk assessments and incident reports as required.
Handle emergencies and urgent matters with promptness and appropriateness as they arise.
Maintain comprehensive records of all complaints, including responses provided and the time taken to address them. Additionally, document any components that were replaced, along with the associated costs incurred.
To proactively assist the Facility Manager in maintaining the facility and its management system, while also contributing to long-term planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
Applicants must hold either an HND or a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Engineering or a closely related discipline to be considered for this role.
Experience in facility management for a minimum of two years is required, with a strong focus on overseeing primary to secondary-level air conditioning repairs and related mechanical maintenance tasks.
Requires proven expertise in generator maintenance, AC repair, and water treatment systems, encompassing pumps and compressors.
