Job Summary
The Facility Officer will oversee the ongoing management and upkeep of the hospital’s physical infrastructure, equipment, and utilities to guarantee that all facilities remain secure, operational, and fully compliant with regulatory standards while fostering an environment conducive to delivering exceptional healthcare services.
Performing both routine and scheduled maintenance tasks to preserve the hospital’s infrastructure and amenities in optimal condition.
Oversee a range of critical responsibilities encompassing operational efficiency, team leadership, and strategic planning to drive organizational success. Execute tasks such as developing and implementing policies, managing budgets, and fostering a collaborative work environment. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards while maintaining high performance across all departments. Collaborate with senior management to align objectives with long-term business goals, and monitor progress through key performance indicators. Additionally, supervise staff performance, provide mentorship, and address any operational challenges to optimize productivity and efficiency.
The position entails providing assistance to the facility manager, overseeing both routine and scheduled maintenance of the hospital’s infrastructure and amenities to ensure optimal operation and user satisfaction.
Oversee unplanned maintenance, repair, and recovery operations for the facility, with a primary focus on HVAC systems.
Ensure the completion of all contracted work to a satisfactory standard and address any identified deficiencies promptly.
To assist the facility manager in addressing and resolving matters pertaining to ASH (Occupational Health and Safety) infection control protocols, waste management guidelines, and other essential facility health and safety standards.
Prepare weekly and monthly reports summarizing facility activities, ensuring all occupational safety and health (ASH) hazards, incidents, near-miss events, and related assistance are documented and promptly reported. Additionally, conduct thorough risk assessments and compile detailed incident reports as required.
Handle emergencies and urgent matters promptly and effectively as they occur.
Maintain a comprehensive log documenting all complaints, responses provided, and response times, along with any components replaced due to failure and the corresponding costs incurred.
To provide proactive assistance to the Facility Manager in sustaining ongoing maintenance, developing long-term strategic plans, and enhancing the facility and its management system.
Requirements
Applicants must hold an HND or Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a closely related discipline.
Minimum of two years’ hands-on experience in facility management, specifically overseeing AC repair tasks from primary to secondary levels, along with other essential mechanical maintenance responsibilities.
Candidate must possess hands-on experience in maintaining generators, servicing air conditioning systems, and handling water treatment operations, including the operation and upkeep of pumps and compressors.
