Job Summary
We require a proficient Electrical Technician to support our oil palm processing operations located in Odogbolu, Gun State.
You will oversee the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment to uphold safe, efficient, and continuous production while adhering to HSE standards.
Oversee and execute core duties that drive operational excellence and team productivity. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to achieve project milestones and organizational objectives. Develop and implement strategies that enhance efficiency, streamline workflows, and optimize resource allocation. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies while maintaining high standards of quality and performance. Lead initiatives that foster innovation, professional growth, and a culture of accountability within the team. Monitor key performance indicators to assess progress, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed. Serve as a pivotal point of contact for stakeholders, addressing concerns, and providing clear, actionable solutions to challenges.
Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, panels, motors, control systems, and plant equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety standards are consistently met.
Conduct regular inspections and carry out preventive maintenance tasks to minimize operational disruptions and mitigate electrical risks.
Identify and resolve issues in three-phase systems, programmable logic controllers, variable frequency drives, and power distribution equipment.
Ensure strict adherence to Nigerian electrical codes, HSE regulations, and the company’s established standards in all electrical work performed.
Ensure strict adherence to lockout/ragout protocols and safety permit systems in collaboration with the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) team.
Interpret and analyze electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals to extract critical information for project execution.
Maintain precise documentation of all maintenance activities, repair work performed, and spare parts consumption.
Address electrical malfunctions without delay to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
Provide support for the installation of new machinery and implementation of electrical upgrades.
Educate operators and contractors on the critical importance of electrical safety to foster a culture of compliance and accident prevention.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of three years of experience in a comparable role. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong communication skills are essential. Familiarity with industry-specific software or tools is preferred but not mandatory. The ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks efficiently, and meet deadlines is required. Additionally, excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges are highly valued.
A Bachelor’s degree, Higher National Diploma, or Ordinary National Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a closely related discipline is required.
With a minimum of two years of hands-on experience as an Electrical Technician, preferably within manufacturing, word-processing, FMCG, or industrial plant environments.
Proficient in three-phase systems, motor controls, transformers, and industrial wiring, with a comprehensive understanding of each component.
Proficiency in Nigerian Electrical Standards and fundamental Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) practices is required.
Proficient in interpreting technical blueprints and operating essential testing instruments, including multimeters, clamp meters, and megohm meters.
Demonstrates strong analytical capabilities and the ability to craft clear, concise reports.
Maintains proficiency in fundamental computer applications for recording and updating maintenance logs and preparing related documentation.
Ability to accommodate varied shift schedules and promptly address emergency situations as they arise.
