This officer will be responsible for covering a sales territory that includes Nigeria’s security agencies, judiciary and court systems, federal and state universities, as well as specialized government institutions such as teaching hospitals, regulatory academies, and government-owned enterprises.
This territory presents significant deal complexity alongside extended procurement cycles, necessitating the expertise of a commercially strategic executive rather than merely a relationship-focused leader.
Oversee and execute critical operational tasks to ensure seamless daily functioning, including the management of team workflows, adherence to established protocols, and the timely completion of assigned duties. Collaborate with cross-functional departments to align objectives, resolve interdepartmental challenges, and foster a cohesive work environment. Monitor performance metrics to identify trends, address inefficiencies, and implement corrective actions as needed. Maintain compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and quality standards to uphold organizational integrity. Additionally, provide mentorship and guidance to team members, supporting their professional development and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Sales Mandate:
This role encompasses securing contracts and fostering relationships with security agencies, judicial bodies, and governmental institutions to drive revenue growth and expand market presence. Responsibilities include identifying key decision-makers, cultivating strategic partnerships, and negotiating agreements that align with organizational objectives. Successful candidates must demonstrate a deep understanding of the public sector landscape, possess exceptional communication skills, and exhibit a proven track record in sales within regulated or high-stakes environments.
The role requires engagement with key institutions, including the welfare and human resources systems of the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), National Intelligence Agency (NIA), and the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Additionally, it encompasses the Federal and State High Courts, Appeal Courts, and the Supreme Court, along with federal and state universities, polytechnics, federal teaching hospitals, and specialist medical institutions.
Requirements
A degree in Marketing, complemented by an MBA in Marketing, is required, along with a minimum of eight years of sales or commercial experience within Nigerian security agencies, the judiciary, universities, or specialist government institutions. Furthermore, candidates must demonstrate a proven track record of securing contracts valued at 50 million Naira or more directly with institutional leaders.
Establishing and maintaining active connections at the IG, DG, VC, and Chief Justice levels across at least three target institution categories within the past 18 months is essential.
Proven capability to effectively manage intricate and politically charged institutional procurement procedures.
Proven expertise in structuring commercial contracts, with the confidence and capability to present and defend a pricing framework effectively before the Board.
Demonstrated experience with government technology procurement, particularly within security or judicial domains, encompassing classified or restricted procurement procedures.
Proficiency in pricing governance or revenue operations within a business generating multiple revenue streams is required.
