Role Description

This is a one-month, on-site role for a Contract Management Instructor located in Port Harcourt. The instructor will be responsible for developing, revising, and conducting contract management training sessions, covering essential topics like contract lifecycle management, risk allocation, compliance, negotiation strategies, and performance monitoring. Daily tasks include creating structured lesson plans and training resources, presenting classroom-based lectures, facilitating hands-on workshops, and incorporating real-world case studies and practical exercises tailored to sectors such as oil and gas and manufacturing.

This position encompasses monitoring learner advancement via assignments, assessments, and hands-on evaluations, delivering insightful feedback, and ensuring meticulous documentation of training records and reports. The instructor will partner with the curriculum development team to synchronize course materials with current industry benchmarks, assist corporate clients in tailoring training programs to their specific needs, and actively enhance DATA’s training portfolio through ongoing refinements.

Seeking a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, a minimum of three years of professional experience in a related industry, and proficiency in industry-specific software. Strong analytical skills, exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, and a demonstrated capacity for problem-solving are essential. The ideal applicant will exhibit meticulous attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Familiarity with current industry trends and best practices is highly desirable.

Proven expertise in contract management principles, encompassing contract drafting, review, risk mitigation, negotiation, and ongoing administration.

With a proven track record in designing and delivering professional training initiatives, you will develop and execute comprehensive programs, workshops, or academic courses focused on contract management, procurement, or closely related business and legal disciplines.

Skilled in conveying ideas clearly, delivering engaging presentations, and guiding discussions among varied adult audiences.

Strong proficiency in standard office and presentation tools, including Microsoft Office and relevant presentation software, is required, along with a willingness to adapt to and master learning management systems or digital training platforms.

A bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, or a closely related field is required; advanced degrees are considered a plus.

Professionally recognized certifications in contract management, procurement, or project management—such as those offered by ACCM/WCC, CAPS, or PMP—are strongly preferred.

Industry experience is highly valued in sectors including oil and gas, energy, construction, or manufacturing, with a particular emphasis on roles centered around contracts, procurement, or commercial management.

Proven expertise in designing instructional content, including course materials, practical case studies, and comprehensive assessments that accurately represent authentic contract management situations.
