Job Description

Our client is in search of a committed communications officer tasked with crafting engaging multimedia content to showcase the organization’s achievements and influence.

The selected individual will craft, refine, and distribute premium visual and audio content across multiple platforms, guaranteeing alignment with the organization’s communication strategy to bolster visibility, engagement, and influence.

Key duties encompass overseeing daily operations, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory standards, and coordinating cross-functional teams to meet strategic objectives. The role demands proactive problem-solving to address operational challenges, maintaining high performance metrics, and fostering a collaborative work environment. Team leadership and mentorship responsibilities include guiding staff development, evaluating performance, and facilitating professional growth initiatives. Additionally, the position requires meticulous financial oversight, budget management, and accurate reporting to senior leadership. Strong communication skills are essential to liaise between departments, stakeholders, and external partners while driving continuous improvement across all functions.

Craft engaging multimedia assets, including photos, videos, graphics, and animations, tailored for social media platforms, websites, marketing initiatives, reports, and special events.

Gather on-site video footage and facilitate interviews with program participants, team members, and key collaborators to document project impacts and insights.

Professionally refine video and photo materials to meet high-quality standards, ensuring a compelling and cohesive narrative throughout.

Develop multimedia assets that are both engaging and relevant to support digital campaigns.

Craft compelling visual narratives that reinforce advocacy initiatives, enhance fundraising efforts, and amplify awareness campaigns.

Collaborate effectively with program teams to interpret field activities and transform them into engaging visual representations.

You will be responsible for instructing field personnel on fundamental techniques for capturing multimedia content, including photography and video recording.

Maintain a well-structured digital asset library by meticulously organizing files and applying accurate metadata tags, while also overseeing usage rights to ensure compliance.

Ensure all materials adhere to consent and copyright regulations.

Execute additional duties as assigned and contribute to various related responsibilities as needed.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of three years of experience in software development. Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is essential, along with experience in database management and cloud computing platforms like AWS or Azure. Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills are also necessary. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and version control systems like Git is preferred.

A Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Media Studies, Journalism, Digital Communications, Graphic Design, or a closely related discipline is required.

A minimum of three years’ relevant experience is required in communications, content creation, multimedia production, or digital marketing, ideally gained within non-governmental organizations, media entities, or sectors focused on social impact.

Proven expertise in developing, refining, and delivering multimedia content—such as videos, graphics, photography, and social media assets—designed to resonate with varied audiences.

A strong command of writing and storytelling is essential, enabling the creation of engaging, well-structured content tailored for websites, reports, newsletters, and marketing campaigns.

A deep comprehension of branding, visual identity, and audience engagement principles is essential, along with the ability to convey sensitive or socially relevant content with tact and professionalism.

A strong aptitude for creativity, initiative, and meticulous attention to detail, coupled with a commitment to leveraging digital storytelling to advance advocacy, enhance visibility, and foster social change.

A strong command of multimedia and digital tools, including Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Canva, is essential. Additionally, hands-on experience with DSLR cameras, audio recording, and video editing software is required.

Proficiency in social media management platforms such as Hootsuite, Buffer, Meta Business Suite, and foundational analytics tools including Google Analytics and Meta Insights is beneficial.
