Corridor Activation – GTC Nigeria Gambia Ugric Export Activation

We are seeking a dynamic professional to oversee the strategic development and implementation of agricultural export corridors between Nigeria and Gambia as part of the GTC initiative. The role involves coordinating logistics, ensuring compliance with international trade standards, and fostering partnerships with local farmers, exporters, and regulatory bodies. Key responsibilities include market research to identify high-potential agricultural commodities, facilitating cross-border trade agreements, and monitoring supply chain efficiency to enhance export volumes. The successful candidate will possess a minimum of five years of experience in agricultural trade, export logistics, or a related field, with proficiency in trade regulations, supply chain management, and negotiation. Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills are essential to drive this initiative forward.

Engineer and deploy cold storage infrastructure at the port of Banjul with a minimum capacity requirement of 500 metric tons.

Secure binding offtake agreements in Lagos, ensuring a minimum of one contract with a local wholesale fish importer prior to the initial shipment.

Execute the inaugural containerized export shipment, facilitating seamless logistics from Banjul to Lagos and vice versa. This critical milestone serves as the definitive validation of the entire operational model.

Responsibilities include managing the contractor selection process, establishing and monitoring the commissioning timeline, and ensuring operational readiness.

Requirements

Degree-holding professionals in Agricultural Economics with an M.Sc. in Agribusiness and a decade of experience facilitating pan-African trade are encouraged to apply.
