Position Overview

In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day functioning, monitoring, and preventive maintenance of our industrial dehydration systems, such as tray dryers, belt dryers, and freeze-drying units. Your key responsibilities will include maintaining peak machine efficiency, adhering to stringent food safety protocols, and meeting production yield objectives while reducing waste.

Oversee a comprehensive range of critical functions, ensuring seamless operational execution while maintaining high standards of performance. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and overall team effectiveness. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align goals, streamline processes, and drive continuous improvement across all key areas. Manage complex projects from inception to completion, adhering to strict timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks. Monitor key performance indicators to assess progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions as needed. Mentor and guide team members to foster professional growth, accountability, and a culture of excellence. Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and analyses to support data-driven decision-making at all levels. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry regulations, and best practices to mitigate potential liabilities. Serve as a primary liaison between senior leadership and operational teams, translating strategic objectives into actionable plans.

Operates and monitors a variety of equipment to ensure optimal performance and adherence to safety protocols, maintaining efficiency throughout operations.

Operate, monitor, and adjust industrial food dehydration systems in strict accordance with product specifications and established standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Monitor key control parameters, including air temperature, humidity, air velocity, and drying durations, to verify adherence to specified moisture content and product quality standards.

Conduct thorough pre-startup inspections and calibration of dehydration equipment prior to each operational cycle to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.

Ensures adherence to stringent quality standards and food safety protocols throughout all operational processes. Conducts thorough inspections, audits, and testing to verify compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Identifies potential hazards, implements corrective measures, and maintains meticulous documentation to uphold product integrity. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to address quality concerns, enhance safety practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Requires a degree in food science, microbiology, or a related field, along with relevant certifications and hands-on experience in quality assurance within a food manufacturing or production environment.

Ensure strict compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) standards, and all corporate food safety protocols.

Perform routine quality assessments on incoming raw materials prior to the drying process and on finished dehydrated goods, evaluating moisture content, texture, and visual characteristics to ensure compliance with established standards.

Record all process parameters, production yields, and quality deviations meticulously in the batch records as part of the documentation process.

Perform diligent maintenance and troubleshooting duties to ensure optimal functionality and reliability of systems and equipment.

Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks on dehydration systems, conveyors, slice cutters, and sorting equipment to ensure optimal operational efficiency and reliability.

Skilled in diagnosing and resolving mechanical or operational issues with efficiency to reduce production downtime significantly.

Collaborate closely with the maintenance engineering team to address intricate repairs or perform comprehensive system overhauls.

Ensures strict adherence to sanitation and safety protocols to maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment. Conducts routine inspections of equipment, workspaces, and storage areas to identify and mitigate potential risks. Implements rigorous cleaning schedules and procedures to comply with health regulations and industry standards. Collaborates with management to address safety concerns, conduct training sessions, and foster a culture of accountability. Maintains accurate records of inspections, incidents, and corrective actions for regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.

Execute clean-in-place (CIP) and manual sanitation procedures to ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of dehydration chambers, ducts, and all food-contact surfaces.

Ensure adherence to 5S standards by maintaining a consistently clean, orderly, and secure work environment.

Always don appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adhere rigorously to occupational health and safety protocols at all times.

Applicants must meet the following qualifications and requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience is required.
• A minimum of three years of experience in a related role is mandatory.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and specialized software relevant to the position is essential.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills are necessary to collaborate effectively within a team.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high attention to detail is crucial.
• Prior experience in project coordination or a similar capacity is preferred.

A Higher National Diploma (HND), Bachelor of Science, or Technical Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Food Processing Engineering, or a closely related discipline is strongly preferred.

A minimum of two to ten years of hands-on experience operating industrial machinery is required, with preference given to candidates who have worked in food, beverage, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.

Highly desirable candidates will possess direct hands-on experience with industrial dehydration systems.

Professional rewriting:
