Position Overview

As a Production Technician, you will oversee the daily operation, monitoring, and routine maintenance of our industrial dehydration systems, which include tray dryers, belt dryers, and freeze-drying equipment. Your core responsibilities will involve maintaining peak machine efficiency, upholding stringent food safety protocols, and meeting production yield objectives while reducing material waste.

Oversee a comprehensive range of critical duties, including developing and implementing strategic initiatives, leading cross-functional teams, and ensuring adherence to organizational policies and industry regulations. Collaborate closely with senior leadership to align operational objectives with broader business goals, while maintaining rigorous standards for quality, efficiency, and compliance. Serve as a key liaison between departments to facilitate seamless communication, resolve escalated issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Monitor and evaluate performance metrics to identify trends, mitigate risks, and implement data-driven solutions that enhance productivity and profitability. Additionally, mentor and develop team members to foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and professional growth within the organization.

Operates and monitors various types of equipment to ensure optimal performance and adherence to safety protocols. Responsible for performing routine inspections, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining accurate records of equipment operation. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, along with prior experience in equipment operation or a related field. Must possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Compliance with all safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines is essential.

Operate, monitor, and fine-tune industrial food dehydration systems in strict adherence to product specifications and established standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Monitor critical control points—including air temperature, humidity levels, air velocity, and drying times—to verify accurate moisture content and uphold product quality standards.

Conduct thorough pre-startup inspections and calibration procedures on dehydration equipment to ensure operational readiness prior to each production cycle.

Quality Assurance and Food Safety professionals ensure adherence to regulatory standards, mitigate risks, and uphold product integrity throughout the manufacturing process. They conduct routine inspections, validate sanitation protocols, and verify compliance with local and international food safety regulations. Responsibilities include documenting quality control findings, addressing non-conformities, and collaborating with production teams to implement corrective actions. Proficiency in quality management systems (such as HACCP, ISO 22000, or GMP), meticulous attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills are essential. Additionally, they play a key role in training staff on hygiene practices and food handling procedures to maintain a safe and compliant operational environment.

Ensure full compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) guidelines, and the organization’s established food safety protocols.

Perform routine quality assessments on incoming raw materials prior to the drying process, as well as on finished dehydrated products, evaluating key parameters such as moisture content, texture consistency, and visual integrity.

Maintain meticulous records of all process parameters, production yields, and quality deviations within the batch documentation.

Perform routine maintenance and address system malfunctions to ensure optimal functionality and reliability. Diagnose issues, repair equipment, and implement preventive measures to minimize downtime and extend operational lifespan.

Conduct regular preventive maintenance (PM) on dehydration equipment, conveyors, slice cutters, and sorting machinery.

Diagnose and resolve mechanical and operational issues with efficiency to reduce production downtime.

Collaborate closely with the maintenance engineering team to execute intricate repairs or comprehensive system overhauls.

We prioritize maintaining stringent sanitation and safety standards across all operations to ensure a secure and hygienic environment. This role demands adherence to health regulations, regular facility inspections, and meticulous documentation of cleaning protocols. Candidates must possess a keen eye for detail, the ability to identify potential hazards, and a commitment to upholding compliance with industry-specific guidelines. Responsibilities include conducting routine audits, implementing corrective actions when necessary, and training staff on proper sanitation practices. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to risk prevention are essential for success in this position.

Perform clean-in-place (CIP) and manual sanitation procedures on dehydration chambers, associated ductwork, and all food-contact surfaces to uphold stringent hygiene and safety standards.

Ensure the work area remains consistently clean, well-organized, and safe by adhering to 5S standards.

Adhere to all occupational health and safety protocols by donning the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

A Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor of Science, or a Technical diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Food Processing Engineering, or a comparable discipline is strongly preferred.

A minimum of two to ten years of hands-on experience operating industrial machinery is required, with a preference for candidates who have worked in food, beverage, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.

Professional experience in the operation of industrial dehydration systems is highly desirable.

Professional Experience: Comprehensive understanding of food safety management systems, including Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Safe Quality Food (SQF), British Retail Consortium (BRC), and International Organization for Standardization (ISO 22000) standards, as well as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
