Our client, an established hotel located in the Amino Odin district of Lagos and Abuja, is seeking the expertise of a highly skilled and experienced Hotel Accountant and Head of Internal Audit. The selected candidate will be entrusted with the following responsibilities:
The professional is responsible for compiling monthly management accounts and overseeing the preparation of daily revenue ledgers, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting for financial analysis and decision-making.
Compiling and overseeing the schedule of all statutory obligations, ensuring their timely and accurate settlement.
Collaborate with management and the internal audit team to establish internal control procedures. Evaluate existing controls and provide strategic recommendations to management regarding any required adjustments.
Ensures all expenditures remain within established budgetary constraints and grants preliminary authorization for approved expenses.
Requires extensive expertise in inventory management, collaborating with colleagues to oversee monthly stock counts and reconciliations while ensuring strict adherence to established inventory protocols.
Compiles or collaborates with other account officers in preparing monthly bank reconciliation statements.
Liaise with the procurement department and store personnel to prepare payment schedules for all creditors, as well as coordinate with the front desk manager to calculate receivables.
The ideal candidate should hold a minimum of a Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, complemented by either ICAN or AAT certification. Advanced standing in ICAN will be considered an added benefit. Candidates holding ICAN AAT2 or Foundation qualifications, coupled with relevant professional experience, are also encouraged to apply. Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, alongside familiarity with at least one accounting software system.
