Job Summary
HR Leverage Africa is seeking a dynamic Canteen Manager for its client, requiring a candidate capable of overseeing the canteen as a self-sustaining business unit. This role encompasses comprehensive responsibility for operations, workforce management, financial oversight, cost efficiency, procurement logistics, performance reporting, and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction within a fast-paced food service setting.
Oversee a comprehensive range of critical duties, including the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and drive organizational growth. Serve as a primary liaison between senior management and departmental teams to ensure seamless communication and alignment with company objectives. Lead cross-functional projects, fostering collaboration and accountability among stakeholders while monitoring progress to meet established deadlines and performance benchmarks.
Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the canteen, including overseeing food preparation, service delivery, and optimizing workflow efficiency.
Responsibilities include overseeing a team comprising chefs, cooks, stewards, cleaners, and storekeepers while ensuring efficient management of shift schedules to maintain seamless operations.
Oversee food cost management, including budgeting, waste reduction, and inventory utilization, to ensure operational efficiency and financial accountability.
Oversee the acquisition of goods and services while cultivating strong partnerships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery, cost efficiency, and adherence to quality standards.
Strict adherence to HACCP, sanitation, and food safety regulations must be rigorously maintained at all times.
Compose comprehensive operational reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, encompassing detailed cost evaluations and performance assessments.
Act as the primary point of contact, facilitating seamless communication and coordination between client requirements and canteen operational activities.
Maintain uniform service excellence and uphold high levels of customer satisfaction across all interactions.
Seeking a detail-oriented professional who possesses strong analytical skills and proficiency in data management systems. Candidates must have a minimum of five years of experience in a related field, along with exceptional problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail. Responsibilities include analyzing complex data sets, ensuring data accuracy, and maintaining efficient database operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
With a demonstrated track record spanning several years, you have extensive experience in overseeing canteen, catering, restaurant, or hospitality operations management.
We possess significant expertise in budget administration, supplier engagement, and contract oversight.
Demonstrated success in leading extensive teams within fast-paced, high-capacity food service environments.
Proficient in food safety protocols and HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) principles, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory requirements and industry best practices in maintaining sanitary conditions and preventing foodborne hazards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or other reporting tools is preferred.
