The Territory Development Officer (TO) plays a pivotal role in expanding leases and asset finance portfolios by conducting systematic market research, fostering a proactive pipeline, generating high-quality leads, and meticulously tracking competitor movements.

This position is an outbound business development role centered on cultivating commercial opportunities, requiring sharp market insight, structured planning, and comprehensive knowledge of the designated territory. Driven by key performance indicators, the role plays a critical part in growing the company’s client base and expanding its loan portfolio.

Oversee and execute a range of critical duties to ensure operational excellence and team productivity. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance performance metrics and drive organizational growth. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, optimize workflows, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, facilitating their professional development and aligning individual goals with company objectives. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess progress, identify areas for enhancement, and implement corrective actions as needed. Market Research and Territory Intelligence: Conducting comprehensive market research to gather, analyze, and interpret data on market trends, customer preferences, and competitive dynamics within assigned territories. Utilizing advanced analytical tools and methodologies to assess market potential, identify growth opportunities, and evaluate risks. Developing detailed territory intelligence reports to support strategic decision-making, including customer segmentation, market sizing, and competitive benchmarking. Perform ongoing market analysis across the designated geographic territory on a consistent basis.

Conduct thorough market analysis to gain comprehensive insights into local lease and asset finance demand for our products, including an evaluation of client demographics, economic trends, and unexplored sales opportunities.

Conduct a thorough analysis to pinpoint all 3-Wheeler Tricycle parks across the designated region, then establish and document the corresponding Branch Chairmen and Park Chairmen for each location. Additionally, identify and categorize critical concentrations of prospective clients, including independent operators, small enterprises, and traders, to facilitate targeted outreach and engagement.

Develop and oversee pipeline management strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and fostering growth through innovative solutions.

Identify prospective borrowers who demonstrate robust repayment capabilities, consistent income and expenditure patterns, and reliable guarantors.

Develop and oversee a lead generation pipeline comprising at least 100 prospects, ensuring that 30 of these are qualified as ‘hot’ leads—prospects with a strong likelihood of receiving financing approval.

Responsibilities include segmenting a pool of 100 leads into three distinct categories—hot, warm, and cold—based on their creditworthiness, financing requirements, and level of urgency.

Daily, the pipeline must be refreshed to collect and verify the following essential details for every lead and guarantor:

Competitor monitoring and market intelligence entail systematically tracking rivals’ activities and analyzing industry trends to inform strategic decision-making. This role requires keen attention to market dynamics, meticulous data collection, and insightful interpretation of competitive landscapes. Key responsibilities include gathering competitive intelligence, assessing market shifts, and identifying emerging opportunities or threats to maintain a competitive edge. Proficiency in analytical tools, strong research capabilities, and the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights are essential for success in this position.

Professionally track and record competitor actions across the designated region, encompassing:

Craft and execute strategic sales, marketing, and promotional initiatives to drive brand awareness and revenue growth. Develop comprehensive campaigns that align with business objectives and target audience needs, ensuring measurable impact through data-driven insights. Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize campaign performance, monitor market trends, and adjust strategies in real-time for maximum effectiveness.

Establishes the required initial payment or deposit amount, along with the proposed daily or weekly repayment schedule and the total loan tenure or duration.

Loan terms and conditions encompass the contractual provisions governing the borrowing arrangement, including the applicable interest rate, repayment schedule, fees, penalties for late payments, and any collateral requirements. These terms outline the borrower’s obligations as well as the lender’s rights, ensuring clarity on the financial commitment and potential consequences of non-compliance. Additionally, they may specify conditions under which the loan can be modified, refinanced, or accelerated, as well as any insurance or guaranty obligations tied to the agreement.

G Experience:

A high school completion certificate is mandatory, while possession of a diploma or degree in marketing, business, finance, or a related field is considered beneficial.

With a minimum of two and up to five years of hands-on experience in field sales, business development, microfinance, asset finance, or a closely related field, the ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of success in driving revenue growth and expanding market presence.
