Oversee a comprehensive range of essential duties encompassing strategic planning, operational execution, and team leadership to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. Develop and implement innovative policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance efficiency, productivity, and overall performance across departments. Collaborate closely with senior management and stakeholders to identify key priorities, mitigate risks, and drive sustainable growth. We are currently seeking a meticulous professional to manage our financial operations and bookkeeping tasks with precision and efficiency. The ideal candidate will oversee day-to-day financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. Responsibilities include processing invoices, reconciling accounts, preparing financial statements, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. Proficiency in accounting software, strong analytical skills, and attention to detail are essential. Excellent communication and organizational abilities are also required to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. A degree in accounting or finance and relevant certifications (such as CPA or CMA) are preferred, along with prior experience in a similar role.

Accurately and promptly, record daily financial transactions in the organization’s accounting software.

Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions to guarantee prompt client invoicing and timely remittance to vendors, transporters, and depot operators.

Process staff claims, oversee operational improvements, and ensure accurate retirement of expenses.

Responsible for conducting thorough inventory audits and ensuring accurate reconciliation of depot records, this role involves meticulous verification of stock levels, tracking discrepancies, and maintaining precise documentation to align physical inventory with system records. Key duties include performing regular cycle counts, investigating variances, and collaborating with procurement and warehouse teams to resolve discrepancies efficiently. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential to identify root causes of inconsistencies and implement corrective actions. Proficiency in inventory management software and a commitment to data accuracy are required to support seamless operational workflows.

Reconcile product waybills, loading tickets, and delivery notes with the quantities listed on invoices for products including PMS, AGO, DPK, and Lubricants.

Perform weekly and monthly reconciliations to align physical depot stock quantities with corresponding book balances.

Immediately identify and document any inconsistencies, deficiencies, or transportation-related losses, and submit a detailed report without delay.

The role encompasses meticulous oversight of bank reconciliations and the management of cash flow to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include reconciling daily bank statements with internal accounting records, identifying discrepancies, and resolving variances to maintain precise financial reporting. Additionally, the position requires proactive analysis of cash flow trends to forecast liquidity needs, optimize working capital, and support strategic decision-making. Strong attention to detail, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to interpret complex financial data are essential. The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in financial reconciliation and cash flow management, alongside excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Compile weekly and monthly bank reconciliation statements for all corporate accounts to ensure accurate financial records and identify discrepancies promptly.

Monitor daily cash balances meticulously and deliver precise cash flow updates to management, thereby supporting informed procurement and lifting decisions.

Ensures adherence to all pertinent tax laws and regulatory mandates, maintaining full compliance with federal, state, and local obligations. Conducts thorough reviews of financial records, tax filings, and reporting systems to identify discrepancies or potential risks. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement effective compliance strategies and mitigate exposure to penalties or legal issues. Stays abreast of evolving regulatory changes to ensure ongoing alignment with current requirements. Provides guidance and training to staff on compliance protocols and best practices.

Compile and administer statutory deductions such as Value Added Tax (VAT), Withholding Tax (WHT), and Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE) in accordance with regulatory guidelines.

Timely submission of tax payments to the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIES) must be diligently ensured.

Support external auditors throughout the annual audit process by compiling and organizing the required schedules and documentation.

The position is responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, in accordance with regulatory standards and company policies. It involves analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and tax regulations. Additionally, the role requires generating management reports, presenting financial insights to stakeholders, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support decision-making processes. Strong proficiency in accounting software, advanced Excel skills, and a detail-oriented approach are essential, along with relevant certifications such as CPA or ARCA.

Provide support to the Finance Manager in the compilation of monthly management accounts and trial balances.

Prepare comprehensive weekly reports detailing sales margins, logistics expenditures, and overdue receivables.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of five years of experience in software development. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is essential, and familiarity with frameworks like Spring or Django is preferred. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are also necessary. Additionally, experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure and knowledge of DevOps practices are highly desirable. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

A degree, such as a B.Sc. or HND, in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field is required.

Seeking a candidate with 4 to 6 years of hands-on accounting experience, ideally with prior involvement in downstream oil and gas, petroleum marketing, or a logistics-intensive industry.

Candidates must not hold full chartered accountant credentials; the preferred applicants are those who are part-qualified (such as students progressing through ICAN or ARCA) or who have earned a relevant degree coupled with hands-on experience.

Proficiency in accounting ERPs is essential, with practical experience being a requirement. A high level of expertise in Sage 50 Cloud Accounting is particularly beneficial.

Technical Skills: Demonstrates advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel, including proficient use of LOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and conditional formatting.

Industry Knowledge: Thorough familiarity with Nigerian tax regulations and downstream petroleum marketing practices is essential.
