Job Summary
We seek dependable personnel to assist with daily fiber cable installation and pulling tasks for the GVA FTTH project based in Ibadan.
This position is a hands-on, entry-level opportunity designed for individuals eager to work in outdoor environments while gaining practical experience.
Oversee the execution of core duties to ensure operational success, including managing project timelines, coordinating team efforts, and maintaining compliance with established policies. Collaborate with cross-functional departments to align objectives and foster a collaborative work environment. Analyze performance metrics to identify trends, address inefficiencies, and implement strategic improvements. Provide leadership in troubleshooting challenges, guiding team members toward solutions, and upholding high standards of accountability. Serve as a liaison between senior management and staff to facilitate clear communication and streamline decision-making processes. Additionally, contribute to long-term planning initiatives by assessing risks, forecasting outcomes, and recommending data-driven adjustments.
Provide support in the transportation, loading, and unloading of cable drums, tools, and related materials.
Establish and maintain drum stands, rollers, and pulling equipment at the work site for optimal functionality and safety.
Clear any small obstructions along the designated path and assist with traffic management duties as required.
Assist riggers and pullers throughout the cable installation and pulling procedures to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Collaborate closely with team members to maintain safety protocols and meet project timelines while executing tasks with precision and attention to detail.
Maintain a tidy and orderly workspace at all times. Ensure the work area is free from clutter and adheres to established cleanliness standards.
Always adhere to established safety protocols and consistently utilize all required personal protective equipment.
Requirements
Physically capable and adept at engaging in outdoor manual labor on a daily basis.
Capable of committing to extended fieldwork hours and executing directives with diligence.
Proficiency in reading, writing, and verbal communication is advantageous for this position.
While prior experience in construction, telecom, or manual labor fields is advantageous, it is not mandatory for this role.
A dependable, punctual professional who thrives in collaborative environments is required.
