Basic Functions

The Manager of Aircraft Cabin and IFE Maintenance is tasked with directing the planning, implementation, and supervision of all maintenance operations pertaining to aircraft cabin interiors and In-Flight Entertainment systems across Air Peace’s fleet. This position guarantees adherence to the strictest safety standards, operational reliability, passenger comfort, and regulatory compliance in alignment with the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, other relevant authorities, and Air Peace’s established protocols. The role reports directly to the Head of Maintenance.

Seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team, this position demands a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role. Applicants must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, exceptional communication abilities, and proficiency in [specific software/tool, if applicable]. A Bachelor’s degree in aeronautical, mechanical, or electrical engineering—or an equivalent qualification—is required, as is a Diploma in Aviation Maintenance coupled with ICAO Type II licenses.

Professionals with a minimum of 10 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, including at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity, are required, with a specific focus on Cabin and IFE systems.

Professionals with extensive hands-on experience operating and maintaining narrow-body and wide-body aircraft, such as the Boeing 737, Boeing 777, and similar models, are encouraged to apply. A deep understanding of the technical specifications, systems integration, and performance characteristics of these aircraft types is essential. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting, compliance with aviation safety protocols, and adherence to manufacturer guidelines. Familiarity with aircraft documentation, maintenance logs, and regulatory requirements is also required to ensure operational excellence and airworthiness.

Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) License with a relevant category rating, preferably encompassing both Airframe and Avionics, is required.

Proficiency in IFE/Cabin systems training provided by industry leaders such as Thales, Panasonic, or Collins Aerospace is advantageous.

Deep expertise in aircraft cabin structures, materials, and composites, coupled with comprehensive knowledge of In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) hardware and software systems, and strong proficiency in diagnosing and resolving issues across electrical, electronic, and mechanical cabin systems.

Leadership, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal abilities are indispensable. Thriving in a fast-paced, round-the-clock aviation setting under pressure is essential.

Our primary responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, managing cross-functional teams, and ensuring adherence to company policies and industry regulations. Oversee and execute a range of critical responsibilities central to the role, including but not limited to [insert specific responsibilities here]. Lead, guide, and foster the growth of the Cabin and IFE Maintenance teams, ensuring their effectiveness and continuous improvement. Oversee their performance to guarantee a seamless passenger experience by maintaining reliable cabin systems and in-flight entertainment solutions.

Develop and execute comprehensive maintenance plans for cabin interiors—including seats, galleys, lavatories, carpets, panels, lighting, and In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) systems such as screens, servers, wiring, software, and audio/video distribution networks. Oversee the timely completion of both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and modifications to uphold operational efficiency. Ensure full adherence to NCAA regulations, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals, Air Peace Maintenance Procedures, and relevant international standards (e.g., EASA/FAA where applicable). Maintain the airworthiness of all cabin and IFE components in accordance with established guidelines.

Quality Control responsibilities include performing inspections, audits, and quality assessments on cabin and In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) maintenance procedures. Additionally, the role involves overseeing defect resolution, troubleshooting system issues, and conducting rigorous testing to verify operational integrity.

Resource Management: Oversee the procurement, organization, and tracking of spare parts, tools, and equipment essential for cabin and In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) maintenance. Collaborate with external suppliers, internal workshops, and third-party Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) providers to facilitate timely repairs and overhauls.

Develop and oversee the departmental budget to ensure efficient allocation of resources. Analyze expenditures to uncover potential cost reductions without compromising safety or quality standards.

Ensure precise upkeep of maintenance records, logbooks, and technical documentation. Compile and deliver reports on systems’ reliability, recurring defects, and performance metrics to senior management.

Collaborate effectively with the Head of Maintenance, Line/Maintenance Control, Base Maintenance, Technical Services, Planning, Flight Operations, and Cabin Crew to address issues and enhance passenger satisfaction.

Identify training requirements and verify that all team members obtain necessary certifications and periodic refresher training on cabin and IFE systems.
