Job Description

The HR Assistant, in an entry-level capacity, will deliver essential administrative and operational assistance to the Human Resources department.

The position encompasses support for employee onboarding initiatives, maintenance of personnel records, oversight of staff well-being, and execution of routine human resources functions within a mining and industrial operational setting.

Oversee and execute critical tasks, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and maintaining high standards of performance. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to drive efficiency, innovation, and growth. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and achieve departmental goals. Monitor progress, analyze outcomes, and provide data-driven recommendations to optimize results. Serve as a liaison between leadership and staff to facilitate clear communication and foster a productive work environment. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and best practices to mitigate risks and uphold operational integrity.

Support recruitment initiatives by drafting job postings, reviewing candidate CVs, coordinating interview schedules, and facilitating the onboarding process.

Responsible for maintaining and updating employee files, records, and HR databases to ensure accuracy and compliance with organizational policies and regulations.

Facilitate the seamless integration and acclimation of new employees through structured onboarding and orientation initiatives.

Provide support for monitoring attendance, managing leave requests, and preparing essential payroll documentation.

Address employee questions and concerns, ensuring issues are escalated appropriately when needed.

Facilitate the execution and adherence to HR policies, procedures, and organizational regulations.

Provide support in organizing and facilitating training programs, meetings, and staff-related activities.

Facilitate the management of processes pertaining to employee welfare and disciplinary documentation.

Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all employee data at all times.

Handle various HR and administrative responsibilities as they arise.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of five years of experience in software development. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is essential, alongside a strong understanding of algorithms and data structures. Experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure, and familiarity with DevOps practices are highly desirable. Additionally, applicants must possess excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, and strong communication capabilities to convey technical concepts effectively.

A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Relations, or a closely related discipline is required.

Preferred candidates will possess 1 to 2 years of relevant experience.

Proficiency in fundamental human resources practices and a comprehensive understanding of Nigerian labor laws are required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Exceptional ability to maintain meticulous organization and accurate record-keeping.

Demonstrates unwavering integrity and maintains the highest standards of professionalism in all interactions and decision-making processes.

Demonstrated expertise in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite applications is required.

Capable of thriving in a mining or site-based operational setting, with a readiness to adapt to the unique demands and conditions of such environments.

Professional Female candidates aged between 23 and 27 are sought.

Required qualifications and competencies include a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, along with at least three years of hands-on experience in a similar role. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Proficiency in industry-specific software and tools is required, and excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—are necessary to convey complex information clearly. Adaptability to evolving priorities and a commitment to continuous learning are also critical for success in this position.
