International Breweries Plc was established in December 1971 by its founder and inaugural Chairman, Dr. Lawrence Mole, initially operating under the name International Breweries Limited. Production of the company’s flagship offering, Trophy Lager, began in December 1978, with an initial annual production capacity of 200,000 hectoliters.
In response to growing market demand, the company initiated an expansion initiative in December 1982, increasing its annual capacity to 500,000 hectoliters. International Breweries Plc later went public, listing on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in April 1995.
