We are in search of a dedicated and enthusiastic CRS & History Teacher with the necessary qualifications to become part of our secondary school faculty. This individual will be tasked with instructing engaging lessons in Christian Religious Studies (CRS) and History, while simultaneously fostering students’ academic achievements, moral principles, and character growth.
Oversee and execute a diverse range of critical duties, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and industry standards. This role demands meticulous attention to detail in managing tasks, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and maintaining high levels of efficiency. Key duties include developing strategic plans, monitoring performance metrics, and implementing process improvements to drive productivity and innovation. Additionally, the position requires strong leadership to guide teams, resolve challenges, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous growth.
Deliver instructional sessions in alignment with approved teaching schemes, lesson plans, and established school policies.
Deliver dynamic and engaging lessons in Christian Religious Studies (CRS) and History, employing student-centered instructional strategies to maximize learning outcomes.
Develop lesson plans, assignments, projects, classroom activities, assessments, and examination materials that align with established curriculum standards.
Oversee the academic advancement of students and deliver constructive feedback regarding the efficacy and comprehensiveness of instructional strategies and lesson plans.
Identify students who require special learning accommodations and collaborate with the Remedial Teacher to establish tailored support strategies.
Maintain classroom order by enforcing established disciplinary standards, administering appropriate corrective measures for minor infractions, and immediately reporting significant disciplinary concerns to the Sectional Head for further action.
Deliver compassionate pastoral care while fostering the intellectual, ethical, moral, emotional, and social growth of students.
Evaluate students’ assignments, tests, projects, and examinations with precision and timeliness, ensuring consistent and fair grading standards are maintained throughout the evaluation process.
Continuously track and communicate updates regarding students’ academic progress, behavior, and accomplishments.
Develop and sustain productive interactions with parents or guardians to provide updates on students’ academic performance and overall well-being as needed.
Instill in students a commitment to ethical principles, strong leadership qualities, and responsible citizenship, thereby fostering a culture of positive values.
Foster a collaborative and positive team dynamic while contributing to a supportive and inclusive school atmosphere.
Engage proactively in staff meetings, school events, professional development sessions, and extracurricular initiatives to contribute effectively to the school community.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven three to five years of professional experience in software development, with expertise in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
• Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and deploying scalable and high-performance backend systems.
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and system design principles.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases, API design, and RESTful services.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
A bachelor’s degree in Christian Religious Studies, History, Religious Studies, Education Arts, or a closely related field is required.
TRCN certification is a mandatory prerequisite for this position, ensuring that candidates meet the established standards set forth by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria.
A minimum of four years of teaching experience in a secondary school setting is required.
Possesses a strong understanding of the CRS and History curriculum, demonstrating familiarity with its frameworks and key components.
Proven ability to effectively manage classroom dynamics and foster clear, concise communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
Proven capability to motivate students both intellectually and ethically.
