Oversee and execute the primary duties associated with the position, ensuring all operational and strategic objectives are met with precision. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement initiatives that enhance productivity, efficiency, and overall performance. Maintain accountability for delivering high-quality results while adhering to established policies, procedures, and deadlines. Facilitate clear communication and coordination among stakeholders to foster a cohesive work environment. Deliver instructional sessions in alignment with established teaching frameworks, approved lesson plans, and institutional regulations.
Deliver engaging, student-centered instruction in Christian Religious Studies (CRS) and History to foster effective learning outcomes.
Develop lesson notes, assignments, projects, class activities, tests, and examination materials that align with established curriculum standards.
Evaluate students’ academic progress and deliver constructive feedback regarding the efficacy and comprehensiveness of instructional strategies and teaching plans.
Collaborate with the Remedial Teacher to assess students with special learning needs and establish tailored support strategies for their academic development.
Maintain classroom discipline by enforcing approved sanctions for minor infractions and ensuring prompt escalation of significant disciplinary matters to the Sectional Head.
Offer compassionate pastoral care while fostering the holistic growth of students in their academic pursuits, moral foundations, emotional well-being, and social interactions.
Accurately and promptly evaluate students’ assignments, tests, projects, and examinations.
Consistently track and document students’ academic progress, behavioral conduct, and accomplishments, providing timely updates and formal reports as required.
Develop and sustain open, professional communication with parents or guardians to provide updates on students’ academic performance and overall well-being as required.
Foster an environment that cultivates positive values, ethical conduct, leadership skills, and civic responsibility among students.
Foster a collaborative and positive team dynamic while enhancing the overall supportive atmosphere within the school environment.
Engage consistently in staff meetings, school events, professional development sessions, and extracurricular initiatives to support collaborative efforts and foster a well-rounded educational environment.
Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in Christian Religious Studies, History, Religious Studies, Education Arts, or a closely related field is required.
Certification from the Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) is required.
A minimum of four years of secondary school teaching experience is required.
Proficient in the CRS and History curriculum with a strong understanding of its key components and instructional strategies.
Effective classroom leadership and interpersonal communication abilities are essential.
Proven capability to motivate students both intellectually and ethically.
