Overview

The External Auditor will oversee and lead multiple audit engagements spanning clients in diverse private and public sector industries.

The position demands the provision of superior audit services in strict adherence to international standards and the firm’s established quality control protocols. Essential to success are robust leadership capabilities, advanced technical proficiency, and a proven track record in managing varied teams and intricate projects.

Primary Duties

Conduct audit engagements in partnership with the Managing Partners, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and regulatory standards.

Support the preparation of proposals and play a key role in securing new business opportunities.

Strive to meet revenue targets without compromising the quality of service delivered.

Conduct audit procedures in accordance with international auditing standards and established internal protocols.

Deliver educational sessions and developmental programs to direct reports to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Facilitate the achievement of organizational objectives by contributing to report generation and audit preparation initiatives.

Conduct a thorough evaluation of audit work to verify its precision and ensure prompt completion.

Work collaboratively with various departments to align communication strategies and marketing initiatives.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience is required. A minimum of three years of hands-on experience in a comparable role is necessary. Proficiency in industry-specific software and tools is expected. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Authorization to work in the designated country is mandatory.

A bachelor’s degree or higher national diploma in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline is required.

A minimum of seven years of post-qualification experience in auditing is required.

Membership in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) or an equivalent professional organization is required.

Experienced in conducting audits for clients spanning private and public sectors, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of diverse regulatory environments and operational frameworks.

Additional prerequisites include evaluating candidates based on specialized qualifications or unique circumstances that distinguish them from the standard applicant pool. These criteria may encompass advanced certifications, niche expertise in a particular field, or exceptional achievements that align with the organization’s strategic objectives. The selection process may also consider factors such as prior leadership experience in innovative projects, contributions to industry-specific research, or fluency in multiple languages relevant to global operations. Furthermore, applicants demonstrating a proven track record of overcoming complex challenges or fostering collaborative environments through mentorship and team development may receive preference.

Demonstrates a successful history of overseeing a minimum of seven Category A clients for two consecutive years.

Extensive expertise in accounting principles and auditing standards is essential, including a thorough understanding of relevant regulations and best practices governing financial reporting and compliance.

Exceptional proficiency in communication, encompassing articulate verbal exchanges, polished written correspondence, and compelling presentation delivery.

You must maintain current knowledge of industry regulations and emerging developments to ensure compliance and strategic alignment.

Proficient analytical abilities are required to accurately interpret and derive insights from financial data.

Demonstrates strong expertise in utilizing Caneware, Microsoft Office Suite, and other pertinent software applications.

Proven capacity to collaborate effectively within team settings while skillfully balancing and prioritizing multiple tasks.
