Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations to ensure efficiency, coordinating team efforts to achieve organizational goals, and maintaining accurate records of all transactions and communications. The Operations Assistant (Field Support) will provide essential support to migrants at the transit center, facilitate arrival procedures at the airport, conduct migrant profiling in Mimosa, and coordinate transportation logistics.

Provide on-site assistance and logistical coordination in designated regions, including airports, transit hubs, and third-party facilities, to facilitate transportation operations.

Perform a range of essential airport services, including facilitating arrivals by providing assistance to incoming passengers, verifying their identities and travel documents, and guiding them through required airport procedures such as flight arrivals, curbside assistance, check-in, baggage handling, immigration clearance, and security screening. Escort arriving passengers to ground transportation options and departing passengers to their respective gates, while visually confirming that flights have safely departed. Ensure individuals with special needs or equipment receive tailored support, and dispatch necessary notifications using applicable airport systems as required.

Assist individuals at transit centers or third-party facilities by providing support upon arrival, including sign-in procedures, identity verification, orientation, distribution of food and non-food items, and room assignments. During their stay, offer meals, additional supplies, instructions, briefings, activities, and troubleshoot any concerns. Upon departure, assist with medical appointments, return or onward travel arrangements, including providing travel guidance, handling luggage, and facilitating transportation transitions. Maintain accurate records by entering and updating relevant data in designated systems, ensuring vulnerable individuals receive attentive care that prioritizes their safety, security, and comfort. Promptly escalate any issues to the appropriate supervisor(s) for resolution.

Provide support at transit centers and third-party facilities for shifts lasting up to 12 hours, including overnight hours, to ensure the ongoing needs of individuals are addressed. Respond promptly to any issues by notifying third-party facility representatives and/or supervisors without delay.

Assist in organizing transportation services from airports, transit centers, MHC facilities, and third-party locations, which involves coordinating with service providers, confirming passenger identities, verifying their preparedness, and ensuring orderly arrangements. Additionally, support baggage management tasks such as sorting, tagging, and handling, and accompany individuals during transport when necessary. Address the specific needs of individuals requiring additional assistance and promptly escalate any concerns to management for resolution.

Interpretation services will be delivered to individuals at airports, transit centers, third-party facilities, and during transportation.

Deliver consistent updates regarding progress to the Senior Operations Assistant, supervisors, and team members while promptly notifying supervisors of any issues necessitating their immediate attention.

Uphold the confidentiality and integrity of all pertinent documentation in accordance with established codes of conduct and data protection regulations. Promptly notify the Senior Operations Assistant or management of any deviations from Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or codes of conduct by IOM personnel or external partners.

Assist with additional tasks and responsibilities as deemed appropriate by management from time to time.

Seeking a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, complemented by 3–5 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in Python, Java, or C++ is essential, along with familiarity with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required to collaborate effectively in a team environment. Responsibilities include designing and implementing software solutions, conducting code reviews, and ensuring compliance with best practices and industry standards.
