The Child Rights and Responsible Business Intern will assist International Alert in advancing its initiatives at the crossroads of child rights, responsible business conduct, business and human rights, and private sector engagement.

The position demands a professional who integrates robust research and analytical capabilities with a client-centric approach, fostering constructive relationships across businesses, industry stakeholders, government entities, civil society organizations, and development partners.

The intern will support the execution of various programs, facilitate stakeholder engagement, conduct business outreach, analyze policies, manage knowledge resources, coordinate training initiatives, and assist in devising practical solutions to assist companies in identifying, mitigating, and resolving risks to children’s rights within their operations, supply chains, and local communities.

Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of critical duties, including but not limited to strategic planning, project management oversight, cross-functional collaboration, and meticulous performance monitoring to ensure organizational objectives are consistently met. Develop, refine, and implement policies and procedures that enhance operational efficiency, mitigate risks, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Lead, mentor, and evaluate a high-performing team, providing clear guidance, constructive feedback, and professional development opportunities to maximize individual and collective contributions. Serve as a primary liaison between senior leadership and departmental teams, facilitating transparent communication, aligning priorities, and driving initiatives that support long-term business growth and sustainability.

Program Support plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution and delivery of projects by providing essential administrative and operational assistance. Assist in executing initiatives and programs focused on Child Rights and Responsible Business practices.

Person Specification
