The QA/QC Engineer will develop, implement, and oversee quality assurance and quality control processes throughout construction projects. This professional will verify adherence to established standards, specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices while fostering ongoing quality enhancements during project execution.
Oversee core responsibilities encompassing the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to drive organizational growth and operational efficiency. Serve as the primary liaison between departments to ensure seamless collaboration and alignment with company objectives. Lead cross-functional teams in executing projects, adhering to established timelines and budgetary constraints. Perform detailed analysis to identify opportunities for improvement, recommending data-driven solutions to enhance productivity and performance. Maintain compliance with industry regulations and internal policies while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous innovation.
Formulate, execute, and sustain tailored Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) frameworks and protocols to align with project-specific requirements.
Perform thorough inspections and quality audits of construction activities, materials, and workmanship to verify adherence to project specifications and established standards.
Oversee testing procedures to confirm their execution and validate the accuracy of test outcomes, while maintaining thorough records of test results and inspection documentation.
Analyze construction procedures to detect potential quality-related risks and propose corrective and preventive measures as needed.
Collaborate effectively with project managers, site engineers, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors to uphold and verify compliance with established quality standards throughout all project phases.
Prepare and oversee the creation and upkeep of essential quality documentation, such as inspection reports, quality records, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action reports (Cars).
Perform internal quality audits and assist with external audits conducted by clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
Deliver comprehensive training, mentoring, and assistance in quality assurance practices to project staff and on-site teams.
Requirements
A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related engineering field is required.
A decade or more of hands-on experience in QA/QC within the construction sector is essential, with a strong focus on infrastructure, road, bridge, and building projects.
A professional certification in Quality Management or Quality Assurance/Quality Control is essential, such as ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor, ASQ Certification, CQI/IRA, or a comparable credential.
Professional registration or affiliation with pertinent engineering and industry associations is highly advantageous.
Proficient in quality management systems, construction standards, engineering specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Proven expertise in executing quality inspections, performing audits, verifying testing results, and managing non-conformances to ensure compliance and process adherence.
Analytical, documentation, reporting, and problem-solving abilities of the highest caliber are essential.
Accomplished in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite as well as QA/QC documentation and reporting systems proficiently.
