Job Summary
The Risk Analyst will support the Head of ERM & Control in fulfilling strategic and operational responsibilities related to risk management across Total Health Trust, with occasional collaboration required with other entities within the Tangerine group.

Governance Activities:
Oversee and maintain effective governance practices within the organization. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. Facilitate board meetings, prepare agendas, and document minutes. Monitor adherence to governance frameworks and recommend enhancements to improve operational integrity. Collaborate with leadership to align governance strategies with organizational objectives. Assess risks and implement mitigation strategies to safeguard stakeholder interests.
Collaborate with the Head of ERM & Control to design, oversee, and provide updates on the Risk Management Framework and its associated policies.
Conduct surveillance and disseminate alerts to leadership regarding emerging issues and evolving organizational risks through established daily protocols.
Assist the Head of ERM & Control in crafting and executing policies pertaining to risk management, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and regulatory standards.
Enhance risk management frameworks by improving methodologies for identifying, evaluating—through qualitative and quantitative approaches—mitigating, and continuously monitoring risks across all applicable policies.
Action Plan Oversight: Track the progress of implemented action plans to detect any delays or incomplete mitigation measures taken by business units.
Assists with various additional duties as required, including but not limited to supporting special projects, coordinating meetings, or performing ad hoc tasks to ensure operational efficiency.
Support the Head of ERM & Control in crafting the Risk Appetite Framework by establishing tolerance thresholds, escalation thresholds, and overseeing liquidity risk management alongside investment portfolio alignment.
The incumbent will oversee the submission of loss reports by Champions and correspondents, ensuring all relevant information is accurately documented, while also tracking the progress of corrective measures undertaken to address these losses.
Support process owners in facilitating the development, review, and execution of the Business Impact Analysis (BIA) process; maintain consistency and secure approval of BIA questionnaires; and compile a consolidated BIA report for validation by the BCM Sponsor and the Head of ERM & Control.
Support operational resilience by assisting the Head of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Control in aligning Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) with established strategies, conducting BCP tests, and executing the Crisis Communication Plan in accordance with the Operational Resilience Policy.
Crisis management initiatives are supported to guarantee operational readiness and prompt responsiveness to potential disruptions.
Develop and oversee the Key Risk Indicators (KAI) dashboard to generate timely early warnings for proactive risk management.
Assist the Head of ERM & Control in the development and review of models, ensuring alignment with established standards and objectives.
Perform in-depth evaluations of potential risks throughout various business segments to proactively detect and analyze emerging threats.
To uphold the organization’s risk appetite and strategic objectives, conduct thorough risk categorization and prioritization with precision and consistency.
Facilitate educational programs aimed at strengthening risk awareness and fostering a culture deeply rooted in risk consciousness throughout the organization.
Provide leadership and support to Champions and stakeholders by educating them on risk-related processes and tools.
Perform thorough risk evaluations across all business units to pinpoint developing threats.
You will be responsible for managing the incident management framework, guaranteeing that incidents are documented, analyzed, and resolved in a timely manner.
Perform thorough root cause analyses on critical incidents and propose effective preventive measures to mitigate future occurrences.
Work collaboratively with various business units to develop and oversee the implementation of risk mitigation strategies, ensuring ongoing monitoring and assessment of their effectiveness.
Assist the Head of ERM & Control in fostering innovation within risk management through the strategic application of technology and data analytics.
Assist the Head of ERM & Control in evaluating the organization’s risk practices by comparing them to industry standards and best practices.
Ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, promptly elevating any identified concerns for further review or action.
Support the Head of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) & Control in the organization of stress tests and scenario analyses, which are crucial for assessing the resilience of the organization in challenging conditions.
Assist the Head of ERM & Control in advancing various control-related initiatives and activities.
Monitoring & Reporting Activities: Responsibilities include overseeing operations, tracking performance metrics, and compiling detailed reports to ensure transparency and compliance with established standards. This role involves analyzing data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to stakeholders to support informed decision-making and strategic planning.
Monthly, prepare and deliver comprehensive progress reports on action plans assigned by the first line to the Head of ERM & Control.
We perform and compile the annual Business Impact Analysis (BIA) across all teams.
Compiling and consolidating the quarterly risk report is an integral responsibility within this role.
Quarterly risk appetite assessments and reporting are conducted to ensure alignment with established guidelines.
Conduct quarterly assessments of liquidity and investment portfolios to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. In addition to this core responsibility, fulfill various supplementary duties and tasks as designated by the Head of ERM & Control, supporting the broader objectives of the ERM & Control team.
Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience. Strong proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C++). Minimum 3 years of professional experience in software development, with at least 1 year in a leadership or mentorship role. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), Agile methodologies, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure). Excellent problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and a collaborative mindset. Ability to work independently and adapt to evolving project demands.
Familiarity with the financial services sector or the HMO industry is considered a valuable asset.
Demonstrates a robust understanding of insurance and HMO product portfolios, encompassing their development processes, interdependencies, and key features.
Professional certifications in Risk Management, Financial Modelling, or Data Analytics are advantageous.
Possession of a National Youth Service Corps (NYC) discharge certificate is required.
