What you will do:

Provide assistance to the Head Chef in overseeing the day-to-day management of kitchen operations throughout all service periods.

Craft and present fusion dishes that blend Afro-inspired and international culinary traditions while maintaining an unwaveringly high level of quality.

Oversee all kitchen operations in the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring unwavering quality standards and maintaining efficient workflow.

Contribute to the creation of innovative dishes and seasonal menu revisions that embody the restaurant’s fusion concept.

Oversee kitchen inventory by monitoring stock levels, coordinating orders, and tracking waste to ensure optimal supply management.

Maintain precision in portion control, food preparation, and the presentation of dishes at every station.

Responsible for providing instruction and mentorship to junior kitchen personnel regarding proper culinary techniques, established standards, and compliance with food safety regulations.

Ensure that the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness are consistently upheld throughout the kitchen environment.

What we are looking for:

Minimum 3 years of professional kitchen experience is required, along with direct involvement in fusion cuisine preparation, encompassing both Afro and international culinary traditions.

A degree from a culinary institution is beneficial, but significant and demonstrated hands-on experience may also be taken into account.

Proficient in a wide range of ingredients, culinary methods, and flavor combinations spanning various global cuisines.

Demonstrates exceptional proficiency in inventory management, stock control, and kitchen reporting, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all related tasks.

Demonstrates strong leadership skills to confidently and independently manage the kitchen as needed.

Requires meticulous focus on food quality, presentation, and hygiene standards.

Able to maintain composure, concentration, and high productivity amid demanding service conditions.

A collaborative professional who effectively follows instructions and fosters a positive kitchen environment.
