Role Summary

The Tax and Audit Lead will be responsible for managing all tax compliance and audit-related functions.

The ideal candidate will fulfill all tax obligations and concurrently explore strategic avenues for reducing tax liabilities.

This position will oversee internal audit engagements, verifying compliance with regulatory mandates and organizational policies while ensuring accuracy throughout the process.

Key Responsibilties

Oversee and manage tax compliance activities, which involve the preparation and review of tax returns.

Ensure that vendors’ tax deductions are calculated accurately and that all remittances are submitted promptly.

Conduct internal audit engagements from initial planning through execution to final reporting, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all phases.

Conduct a thorough examination of financial statements to verify adherence to applicable accounting principles and regulatory requirements.

Act as the main liaison for all tax-related questions from both internal teams and external partners.

Cultivate and sustain strong professional connections while delivering expert tax guidance to both internal teams and external parties.

Oversee all communications and interactions with regulatory authorities, including the Legal Immigration and Refugees Service (LIES) and the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

Seeking a candidate with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, along with three to five years of professional experience in [specific industry or role, if applicable]. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in [specific software, tools, or methodologies]. The ideal applicant will demonstrate leadership potential, adaptability to evolving priorities, and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development. A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related discipline is required.

Membership in the CITY and possession of any other pertinent accounting certifications are mandatory requirements for this position.

Professionals should possess three to five years of hands-on experience in tax preparation and auditing roles.

Possesses an in-depth understanding of tax laws and regulations, enabling the application of this expertise to intricate and multifaceted scenarios.

Proven ability to communicate effectively and build strong interpersonal relationships is essential.

Demonstrates exceptional skill in analysis and problem resolution.

Thrives effectively within dynamic, high-pressure settings where stringent deadlines are the norm.
