We are seeking a motivated professional to join our team, responsible for delivering exceptional results in alignment with organizational objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of relevant experience in the field, along with a proven track record of leadership and problem-solving. Key duties include overseeing project execution, managing cross-functional teams, and ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements. Additionally, the role demands strong analytical skills, proficiency in industry-specific tools, and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Fluency in English and a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline are mandatory qualifications for consideration.

The role involves overseeing the activities of Forest Guardians and Data Technicians in Loki, ensuring adherence to operational protocols and project objectives. Responsibilities include coordinating team efforts, monitoring performance metrics, and providing guidance to maintain efficiency and accuracy in data collection and field operations.

Oversee on-site alternative livelihood teams operating in the field.

Conduct controlled field surveys under expert supervision to collect precise data and assess natural habitats, ensuring adherence to established protocols and methodologies throughout the process.

Gather and compile information pertaining to monitoring and evaluation activities to assess performance and outcomes.

Drive community involvement and awareness initiatives through strategic outreach and educational programming.

Reports to:

Program Management professionals are responsible for overseeing and coordinating complex initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and organizational goals. They lead cross-functional teams, facilitating collaboration to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required standards. Key responsibilities include defining project scope, allocating resources, managing risks, and monitoring progress through established methodologies. Strong leadership, exceptional communication, and robust problem-solving skills are essential, along with proficiency in project management tools and techniques. Experience in a similar role and a track record of successful project delivery are typically required for these positions.

Seeking a candidate with a solid educational foundation in a relevant field and at least three years of hands-on experience in a comparable role. The ideal applicant should possess strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential, along with exceptional communication abilities to convey complex information clearly. Prior experience in project management or leadership is highly advantageous, as is a demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with emerging trends in the field.

A Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Zoology, Biological Sciences, or closely aligned fields is required.

Proficient command of business English, including accurate punctuation, spelling, and grammar, is essential.

Demonstrated leadership skills in guiding and managing a team effectively.

Adaptable and proficient in rapidly acquiring new competencies.

Professionals must reside within Cross River State and demonstrate a strong commitment to spending significant periods in the field, specifically at AFI Mountain and Cross River National Park.
