Job Summary

The Distribution Driver ensures the secure, punctual, and efficient transportation and delivery of inventory to specified destinations.

This position demands meticulous compliance with delivery timelines, inventory management protocols, and road safety standards to enhance the efficiency of logistics and operational workflows.

Oversee daily operations to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to established standards, addressing any operational challenges that may arise. Lead and mentor a team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture while aligning individual goals with organizational objectives. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance productivity, streamline processes, and drive continuous improvement across departments. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess progress, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align efforts, resolve conflicts, and achieve interdepartmental goals. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and internal policies to mitigate risks and maintain operational integrity. Facilitate communication between leadership and staff, providing transparency and ensuring alignment on company priorities and expectations.

Efficiently and securely convey inventory to designated destinations while adhering to established safety protocols.

Inventory must be loaded and unloaded with meticulous care to ensure items remain undamaged throughout the process.

Ensure inventory quantities are accurately verified against the corresponding delivery notes and waybills documents.

Perform comprehensive vehicle inspections on a daily basis and immediately document and escalate any maintenance or safety concerns identified.

Ensure the assigned vehicle is consistently clean and in optimal operational condition at all times.

Efficiently plan and execute delivery routes while strictly adhering to established schedules, making necessary adjustments in response to operational demands.

Adhere to all traffic laws, company protocols, and safety standards consistently throughout operations.

Provide support to warehouse personnel during loading, unloading, and inventory transfer processes as needed.

We seek candidates with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in a similar role, along with a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, as is proficiency in industry-specific software and tools. The ideal applicant will demonstrate a proven track record of project management and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with compliance standards and regulatory requirements is also required.

Professionals seeking this opportunity must possess the following qualifications:

Possession of a valid driver’s license is required for this position.

Minimum of three years of professional driving experience is required.

Capable of operating both manual and automatic transmission vehicles proficiently.

Proficient knowledge of the road networks in Calabar is required.

Interpret traffic signs and adhere to road regulations, ensuring compliance with established guidelines for safe and efficient vehicular movement.
