We are seeking a qualified candidate for a position based in UGAP, Cross River State.
Job Summary:
The ART nurse collaborates with clinicians to facilitate the seamless execution of ART service delivery across the facility. They will provide direct support to both the health facility and community-based HIV prevention initiatives, while enhancing referral and linkage services.
Overseeing critical duties and responsibilities constitutes the core of this role, which encompasses a range of essential functions integral to the position. Key responsibilities include managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to deadlines and budget constraints, while fostering collaboration across teams to achieve organizational objectives. Additionally, the role demands strong problem-solving abilities to address challenges proactively, along with meticulous attention to detail to maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency. Working in partnership with the facility medical officer, clinicians, pharmacists, laboratory team, traditional birth attendants (Teas), and mentor mothers, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based antiretroviral therapy (ART), prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT), prevention, and tuberculosis (TB) services.
Deliver comprehensive HIV testing and counseling services to pregnant and breastfeeding women, ensuring access to essential care and support during this critical period.
Facilitate prompt early infant diagnosis and ongoing follow-up for infants exposed to HIV.
Facilitate the continued engagement of mother-baby dyads within healthcare services to ensure sustained participation in care programs.
Provide guidance and assistance to fellow healthcare professionals, fostering their professional growth and development.
Engage actively in various training sessions, meetings, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Establish and scale up PITCH within the designated health facilities.
Delivers expert nursing care, including specialized procedures such as wound dressing changes.
Administers medications in accordance with prescribed orders while adhering to the established scope of practice for licensed professionals.
Deliver comprehensive adherence counseling and facilitate treatment literacy initiatives to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Participates in scheduled team meetings and collaborative discussions as needed.
May serve as a team lead at the facility, providing assistance with the delivery and oversight of patient care.
Responsible for accurately documenting patient charts and administering medications in strict adherence to established protocols.
Delivers comprehensive educational support to patients and their families, ensuring they are well-informed about health conditions, treatment plans, and care strategies.
Maintain strict adherence to established infection prevention and control protocols and guidelines.
She must demonstrate strong teamwork and leadership skills, with the capacity to collaborate effectively and guide teams toward shared objectives.
Applies sound judgment and makes informed decisions with precision and expertise.
Maintains the strict confidentiality of patient information at all times, safeguarding sensitive data in accordance with applicable regulations and organizational policies.
The position requires promptly notifying the registered nurse (RN) and/or medical provider of any substantial alterations in the patient’s physical condition.
Develop and maintain robust referral networks and pathways to ensure seamless patient transitions both within and beyond the facility.
Collaborate effectively with the prevention coordinator to oversee community program staff, guaranteeing targets are met while ensuring reports are prepared and distributed promptly.
Maintain precise and prompt documentation for all services rendered, ensuring thorough completion of registers, electronic medical records (EMR’s), and reporting tools.
Conduct operational research initiatives to address critical inquiries pertaining to AHF’s treatment and prevention programs.
Assigned duties may include additional tasks as directed by the supervisor, ensuring alignment with operational needs and priorities.
Seeking candidates with a relevant educational background and professional experience in the field. Applicants must possess a degree or certification pertinent to the role, along with a minimum of [X] years of hands-on experience. Graduates holding a degree in nursing or a comparable field from an accredited university are required.
A Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Midwife (RM) with additional certifications and a minimum of five years of professional experience is required for this position.
Minimum of three years of experience in overseeing HIV program initiatives is required.
A strong understanding of the Minimum Prevention Package for Nigeria is imperative.
Highly organized and adept at managing multiple tasks simultaneously, with a strong ability to prioritize and execute efficiently.
Proficient in crafting clear, concise reports and delivering persuasive communication.
Individuals must prioritize ethical considerations and maintain strict confidentiality regarding matters pertinent to clients affected by HIV/AIDS.
Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint is required.
