Job Summary

A prestigious legal firm is currently recruiting a Litigation Associate with two to three years of post-qualification experience. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in core litigation matters, exhibit exceptional professional judgment, uphold the highest ethical standards, and thrive in a high-pressure legal setting with minimal supervision.

Oversee and execute a range of critical duties, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry standards. Lead key initiatives, manage cross-functional teams, and drive project completion while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance operational performance and foster innovation. Collaborate closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and optimize processes. Monitor progress, analyze results, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership to support data-driven decision-making. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies through diligent oversight and proactive measures. Serve as a mentor and coach to team members, promoting professional growth and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Manage litigation matters independently of initial filing through to final resolution, requiring minimal oversight.

Prepare legal documentation such as briefs, pleadings, motions, and formal written submissions.

Perform in-depth legal research and deliver well-reasoned legal assessments.

Appear in court as needed, delivering skilled and persuasive representation for clients to ensure their legal interests are advocated for with professionalism and efficacy.

Oversee case files to maintain accurate documentation and ensure timely follow-ups.

Work collaboratively with colleagues to address intricate legal issues, leveraging collective expertise to achieve optimal outcomes.

Preserve the confidentiality of all client and organizational data with the utmost discretion and integrity.

Candidates must possess a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience and hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and organizational skills are required to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and meet project deadlines. A demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and adaptability in dynamic environments is highly desirable. Prior experience in a leadership or mentoring role is a plus.

Earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree.

Called to the Nigerian Bar (B. L) with 2 to 3 years of post-call professional experience.

Demonstrated expertise in core litigation processes is required.

Possesses a robust set of essential skills and core competencies, including strong analytical capabilities, effective communication, and problem-solving expertise. Demonstrates proficiency in relevant software and tools, along with a keen attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively in team environments.
