MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Logistics and Supply Manager and coordinating closely with the Logistics Coordinator, the Logistics Assistant/Driver will oversee the maintenance and repair of Medicine du Mode (MDM) premises and be responsible for operating MDM vehicles.
This role encompasses the upkeep and organization of MDM facilities, requiring a versatile skill set to perform diverse maintenance tasks. Responsibilities include servicing equipment, managing outdoor areas, assessing repair requirements, and addressing maintenance requests across electrical, plumbing, and carpentry domains. Additionally, the position mandates adherence to MDM protocols while operating MDM vehicles.
The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in technical tasks, complemented by strong problem-solving abilities. Excellent organizational skills and a solid foundation in general repair work, along with reliable driving capabilities, are essential. Attention to detail and the capacity to maintain high physical stamina are also highly desirable attributes for this role.

Responsibilities involve ensuring all systems operate efficiently, diagnosing and resolving issues promptly, and performing routine inspections to maintain optimal functionality and safety standards across facilities.

Prepare comprehensive cost projections for the procurement of essential materials, parts, and components, ensuring accurate forecasting of supply needs.
Acquire and evaluate the quality of raw materials intended for procurement to ensure compliance with established standards and specifications.
To provide guidance on optimal repair execution methodologies, ensuring a balance between cost-effectiveness and quality standards.
Perform a comprehensive range of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical maintenance and repair tasks.
Identifies components requiring replacement and performs the necessary actions prior to any detrimental consequences arising.
Execute every repair in strict accordance with established global best practices to ensure optimal outcomes.
Experts are required to assist contractors in fulfilling their assigned duties effectively within the designated premises.
All operations must be executed and managed in a manner that prioritizes safety.
Oversee and manage a comprehensive record of all repairs and replacements, updating this inventory on a bi-weekly basis and ensuring its accuracy and accessibility for relevant stakeholders.
Perform routine weekly and daily inspections of all MDM properties to assess operational needs and promptly submit detailed reports.
Maintains accurate inventory records, ensuring alignment between physical stock and system data. Oversees the receipt, storage, and distribution of goods while adhering to organizational policies and safety protocols. Tracks stock levels to identify shortages or excesses, initiating corrective actions as needed. Collaborates with procurement and logistics teams to optimize supply chain efficiency and minimize operational disruptions. Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and internal guidelines throughout all stock-related processes.
Verify, document, and store incoming merchandise in accordance with the directives of the Logistics and Supply Manager.
Conduct routine audits of inventory quantities through physical counts to ensure accurate stock levels.
Upon receipt of an order, verify the quantity of packages, inspect both the packaging integrity and the contents, and promptly report any discrepancies—such as missing or damaged goods—to the Logistics and Supply Manager.
Upon receipt, promptly update the stock cards by entering the reference number from the receipt document and then store the goods according to the directives provided by the Logistics and Supply Manager.
Frequently used store items must be consistently maintained in stock to meet customer demand and ensure seamless operations.
Ensure all items are meticulously organized, securely stored, distinctly identified, and readily accessible, while maintaining optimal cleanliness and safety standards.
Professionals in this role are responsible for operating vehicles while ensuring the safety and security of passengers as well as transported materials and equipment. This includes adhering to traffic regulations, conducting pre-trip inspections, and maintaining vehicle cleanliness and functionality throughout each journey.
Experiencing a commitment to compliance with MDM driving regulations, the role necessitates adherence to established safety protocols and operational guidelines to ensure regulatory alignment. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain up-to-date knowledge of MDM driving standards, implement necessary procedures, and conduct regular audits to verify adherence. Responsibilities include monitoring driver performance, addressing any deviations, and providing corrective guidance as needed. Proficiency in documenting compliance activities and reporting findings to relevant stakeholders is essential to support continuous improvement and regulatory fulfillment.
Professional drivers must adjust their behavior and vehicle operation to ensure the safety of passengers, MDM equipment, and all other road users, including drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists.
Always adhere to the Nigerian traffic regulations and comply with all posted speed limits while operating the vehicle.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols by fastening your seatbelt at all times while operating a vehicle and confirm that all passengers follow the same requirement.
You must possess a valid driver’s license at all times, and you must be prepared to present it promptly upon any request for inspection.
Ensuring all required documentation remains valid and is renewed prior to expiration is essential, including annual road safety inspections and registration of primary drivers with the Rental Company.
The vehicle must undergo regular maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity, including routine inspections, servicing, and repairs as required. Responsibilities include conducting thorough checks of mechanical systems, addressing any issues promptly, and adhering to manufacturer guidelines for service intervals and maintenance schedules. Additionally, the role may involve documenting maintenance activities, tracking service history, and coordinating with service providers to ensure timely and cost-effective upkeep.
Regularly inspecting the vehicle’s engine, oil levels, brake fluid, tire pressure, and windshield fluid is essential to ensure optimal performance and safety.
In the event of a technical issue or maintenance requirement, it is essential to promptly notify the designated supervisor to ensure timely resolution and continued operational efficiency.
After obtaining approval from the direct supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for coordinating or, when feasible, performing any required maintenance tasks.
The vehicle must be maintained in a pristine condition, both internally and externally, at all times. This includes performing thorough cleaning and sanitation procedures to uphold high standards of hygiene and appearance. Regular inspections will be conducted to verify cleanliness levels, and any necessary corrective actions will be taken promptly to address any deficiencies.
The vehicle must be equipped with all required tools and materials, including spare wheels, airlifts, belts, and ropes, all of which must be in proper working order.
Each refueling operation must be conducted whenever the fuel gauge indicates the tank has reached the 50% capacity threshold.
Other duties may include collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify process improvements, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies, maintaining accurate documentation of all activities, and providing detailed reports to stakeholders as needed. Additionally, the position requires staying current with emerging technologies and best practices to enhance operational efficiency, participating in training programs and professional development opportunities, and assisting in the implementation of new systems or methodologies. The individual will also be expected to troubleshoot issues, offer proactive solutions, and contribute to strategic planning initiatives to support organizational goals.
