MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

The Logistics Assistant/Driver will operate under the guidance of the Logistics and Supply Manager while maintaining a technical liaison with the Logistics Coordinator, overseeing the maintenance and repair of MDM facilities and the operation of MDM vehicles.

The incumbent will ensure the proper functioning of MDM facilities by performing a range of maintenance duties, including equipment servicing, outdoor area upkeep, and identifying repair requirements. Additionally, they will address maintenance requests across multiple domains, such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and furniture-related issues. The role also involves operating MDM vehicles in accordance with established procedures.

The successful applicant must demonstrate technical proficiency and exceptional problem-solving abilities. Additionally, they should exhibit strong organizational skills, general repair expertise, and a valid driver’s license. Attention to detail and physical endurance are essential qualities for this role.

Proficiently identify and analyze all system malfunctions to ascertain the precise scope of necessary repairs.

Prepare accurate cost projections for required materials, parts, and components to support procurement activities.

Ensure thorough evaluation of all incoming materials to verify their adherence to specified quality standards before acquisition.

Upon evaluating repair execution methodologies, consider integrated approaches that balance economic efficiency with uncompromising quality standards. Perform electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical repairs of all types with precision and efficiency.

Identifies components requiring replacement and performs the necessary actions before any adverse impacts arise.

Execute all repair tasks in strict accordance with globally recognized best practices to ensure consistency and quality across all operations.

Provide assistance to all contractors in fulfilling their duties associated with on-site activities.

All operations must be executed and managed in strict adherence to established safety protocols and guidelines.

Oversee a comprehensive log of all repair and replacement activities, ensuring timely updates, and distribute a bi-weekly summary of these records.

Conduct comprehensive inspections of all MDM properties on a weekly and daily basis to assess their condition and identify any necessary actions, then document and report findings appropriately.

Maintain accurate oversight of inventory levels, ensuring precise tracking and timely replenishment of stock to meet operational demands. Implement systematic processes for stock rotation, minimizing waste and preventing shortages. Conduct regular audits to verify data accuracy and reconcile discrepancies within the system. Collaborate with procurement teams to forecast demand and adjust supply orders accordingly. Prepare detailed reports on stock movements, usage patterns, and inventory valuation for management review. Identify inefficiencies in storage or distribution and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards governing inventory control.

Receive, document, and store incoming goods in accordance with the directives of the Logistics and Supply Manager.

Conduct routine audits of inventory quantities through physical counts to ensure accurate stock levels.

Upon receipt of an order, verify the quantity of packages, inspect both the packaging and contents, and promptly report any discrepancies—such as missing or damaged items—to the Logistics and Supply Manager.

Upon receiving goods, promptly update the stock cards by entering the receipt document’s reference number and store the items according to the guidelines provided by the Logistics and Supply Manager.

Maintain adequate stock levels of high-demand merchandise throughout the store to meet customer needs.

Maintain meticulous organization, proper storage, and complete protection of all items, ensuring they are fully identified, easily accessible, and maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and security.

Operating vehicles while prioritizing the safety and security of passengers as well as transported materials and equipment is essential. This role requires vigilance in vehicle operation and adherence to protocols to ensure the protection of all cargo and individuals during transit.

As per the MDM driving regulation, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring strict adherence to established protocols to guarantee compliance and operational integrity. This role involves monitoring and enforcing regulatory standards, conducting periodic assessments, and maintaining accurate documentation to mitigate risks associated with non-compliance. The position requires a keen attention to detail, a thorough understanding of MDM driving policies, and the ability to implement corrective measures when deviations occur. Additionally, the individual must collaborate with relevant stakeholders to foster a culture of compliance and safety within the organization.

Adapting his or her behavior and driving style to ensure the safety of passengers, MDM equipment, and all other road users, including drivers and pedestrians.

Always adhere to the Nigerian Highway Code and maintain compliance with all posted speed limits while operating the vehicle.

All personnel must ensure the use of safety belts while operating the vehicle, as well as confirm that all passengers comply with this requirement.

A valid driving license must be maintained at all times, and it should be readily available for any inspection that may occur.

All essential documents must be validated and renewed prior to their expiration dates, including annual road safety inspections and the registration of primary drivers with the Rental Company.

The vehicle requires regular upkeep to ensure optimal performance and longevity. This includes conducting routine inspections, addressing any mechanical issues promptly, and performing necessary repairs or replacements to maintain safety and efficiency standards. Additionally, the incumbent must adhere to manufacturer guidelines for servicing intervals and document all maintenance activities thoroughly.

Regularly inspecting the vehicle’s engine, oil levels, brake fluid, tire pressure, windshield fluid, and other critical components is essential.

Upon identifying any technical issues or maintenance requirements, promptly notify the direct supervisor to ensure timely resolution.

After validating the direct supervisor’s instructions, the incumbent is responsible for either coordinating or personally performing any required maintenance tasks.

The responsibility includes maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle both internally and externally.

The vehicle must be stocked with all required equipment and materials in proper working order, including tools, spare tires, air lifts, belts, ropes, and other essential items.

Each refueling is initiated precisely when the tank’s fuel level reaches 50 percent capacity.

Other duties may include overseeing project timelines to ensure adherence to deadlines, managing stakeholder communications to maintain transparency and alignment, conducting risk assessments to identify potential project obstacles, and implementing mitigation strategies to address identified risks. Additionally, the role may involve optimizing resource allocation to enhance efficiency, preparing detailed reports to track progress and performance metrics, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to foster innovation and problem-solving. The position may also require maintaining compliance with industry regulations and internal policies while staying updated on emerging trends to drive continuous improvement.

As directed by the Logistics and Supply Manager, undertake any supplementary tasks or responsibilities as needed to support operational objectives.

Adhere to all Master Data Management (MDM) policies, standards, and compliance requirements with diligence and precision.
