MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the guidance of the Logistics and Supply Manager and in coordination with the Logistics Coordinator, the Logistics Assistant/Driver will be responsible for maintaining and repairing MDM premises as well as operating MDM vehicles.

The incumbent will ensure the operational integrity of MDM facilities by performing a variety of maintenance tasks, including equipment servicing, outdoor area upkeep, and identifying repair requirements. Additionally, they will address maintenance requests across multiple disciplines—such as electrical, plumbing, and carpentry—and operate MDM vehicles in strict adherence to established procedures.

The successful applicant must demonstrate strong technical proficiency, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a detail-oriented mindset. Candidates should also exhibit well-developed organizational skills, solid general repair expertise, and reliable driving capabilities. Additionally, physical stamina and meticulous attention to detail are essential qualities for this role.

Perform electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical repairs of all types, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and industry standards throughout each task.

Assesses components requiring replacement and performs the necessary actions prior to any detrimental effects occurring.

Execute all repairs in strict adherence to globally recognized best practices, ensuring consistency with established industry standards.

Provide comprehensive assistance to contractors in fulfilling their assigned duties and obligations while performing work on the premises.

Oversee the documentation of all repair and replacement activities, ensuring an updated inventory is maintained and submitted biweekly.

Conduct weekly and daily inspections of all MDM properties to assess requirements and provide timely reports.

Overseeing inventory levels and ensuring accurate tracking of stock movements represent core responsibilities within stock management. This role involves maintaining precise records of incoming and outgoing goods, conducting regular audits to verify stock accuracy, and reconciling discrepancies promptly. Additionally, the position requires collaboration with procurement teams to forecast demand, optimize order quantities, and minimize excess or shortages. Proficiency in inventory management systems and strong analytical skills are essential to support data-driven decision-making and sustain operational efficiency.

Upon receipt of goods, verify and document the delivery accurately before securely storing them, ensuring all tasks are performed under the guidance of the Logistics and Supply Manager.

Consistently monitor inventory quantities through physical verification processes.

Upon receipt of an order, verify the quantity of packages, inspect the packaging and contents, and promptly report any discrepancies—such as missing or damaged goods—to the Logistics and Supply Manager.

Upon receiving the goods, promptly update the stock cards with the receipt document’s reference number and store the items according to the Logistics and Supply Manager’s provided instructions.

Regularly maintain adequate stock levels for high-demand merchandise throughout the store to meet customer needs consistently.

Ensure all items are meticulously organized, securely stored, clearly identified, and readily accessible while maintaining impeccable cleanliness and robust security protocols.

Ensuring the safety and security of transported materials and equipment while driving vehicles and maintaining passenger safety is essential.

In accordance with the MDM driving regulations, the incumbent is tasked with ensuring compliance with all stipulated guidelines to uphold safety and operational standards. The position requires a thorough understanding of MDM protocols and adherence to prescribed procedures to mitigate risks and maintain regulatory alignment. Responsibilities include monitoring adherence to these regulations, conducting regular audits, and addressing any deviations promptly to ensure full compliance.

Adapting their behavior and driving style to ensure the safety of passengers, MDM equipment, and all other road users, including drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists.

Always adhere to the Nigerian traffic regulations and maintain compliance with all posted speed limits while operating the vehicle.

Always ensure the use of safety belts for yourself and all passengers whenever operating a vehicle.

Possession of a valid driving license is mandatory, and you must have it readily available for presentation during any inspection.

To guarantee the validity and timely renewal of all required documentation prior to expiration, including annual road safety inspections and registration of primary drivers with the Rental Company.

The upkeep and servicing of the vehicle must be diligently performed to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.

The vehicle’s engine, oil level, brake fluid, tire pressure, windshield washer fluid, and other components must be inspected routinely to ensure optimal performance and safety.

In the event of a technical issue or required maintenance, immediately notify the direct supervisor to ensure prompt resolution and minimize operational disruptions.

After receiving approval from the direct supervisor, perform or coordinate any required maintenance tasks.

The vehicle must be maintained in impeccable condition, both internally and externally, at all times. This includes thorough cleaning and inspection to uphold high standards of hygiene and presentation.

The technician must verify that all required equipment and materials are loaded into the vehicle and maintained in optimal working condition, including tools, a spare tire, air lift, belts, and ropes.

Each time the fuel tank reaches half of its capacity, it is necessary to refill it to maintain optimal performance.

Other duties may include overseeing project timelines, coordinating with cross-functional teams, ensuring adherence to organizational policies, and maintaining accurate documentation. Additionally, this role may require participation in strategic planning sessions, conducting performance evaluations, and identifying opportunities for process improvements. Proficiency in relevant software tools, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously are essential. Effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders at all levels are also crucial for success in this position.
