We seek a detail-oriented Staff Verification Specialist to enhance our team in Ikeja. Your core responsibility will involve performing comprehensive background checks and validating the credentials and personal information of potential employees, guaranteeing that all new recruits align with the company’s established criteria. This position is instrumental in verifying employment histories, residential addresses, criminal records, and academic qualifications to further strengthen the hiring process.

Key Duties and Obligations include overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, and maintaining high standards of efficiency and accuracy in all tasks. The role demands strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and implement strategic improvements where necessary. Additional responsibilities involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing project timelines, and addressing any operational challenges that arise. You will also be accountable for reporting key metrics to senior leadership, maintaining meticulous records, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team. Prioritizing tasks, delegating responsibilities, and ensuring seamless communication across departments will be essential to success in this position.

Perform thorough background investigations encompassing identity confirmation, address validation, criminal record reviews, and employment history verification.

Ensure academic credentials and certifications are validated and in compliance with established standards.

Engage in professional correspondence with candidates, referees, former employers, and academic institutions to conduct necessary verification checks.

Verify adherence to all applicable legal and regulatory standards throughout the verification process.

Ensure all verification outcomes are documented with precision while promptly identifying and reporting any inconsistencies.

Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing verification results for distribution to HR and senior management teams.

Respond to candidate inquiries promptly and address verification discrepancies with a high degree of professionalism.

Maintain current knowledge of prevailing industry standards and applicable legal regulations concerning background verification processes.

Required Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology. Candidates must possess at least three years of professional experience in software development, system administration, or a closely related technical role. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ is essential, along with strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills. Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure and experience with DevOps practices are highly desirable. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment are also necessary.

A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or an equivalent discipline is required.

A minimum of three years of relevant experience in background verification, HR compliance, or equivalent professional capacities is required.

Proficient in background check methodologies and the legal frameworks governing employment verification, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.

Accomplishes tasks with meticulous precision and demonstrates proficiency in identifying and resolving issues.

Proficient in verbal and written communication, with a strong capacity to collaborate seamlessly with internal stakeholders and external partners.

Demonstrates strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications alongside experience with background screening software.
