Deadline: 7 September 2026

You will contribute to meaningful outcomes by fulfilling key responsibilities and leveraging your expertise to drive impactful results. This role demands a proactive approach, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals. Your contributions will be essential in shaping strategic initiatives, optimizing processes, and delivering solutions that align with company objectives. Additionally, you will be expected to meet specific qualifications, including relevant experience, technical proficiencies, and a track record of success in similar roles.

We seek a detail-oriented, self-disciplined Background Checks Officer to uphold the highest standards of integrity for Estrada and our corporate partners. This position demands more than routine verification; it requires the expertise of a seasoned investigator tasked with reducing organizational exposure to risk and preventing fraudulent activity.

You will be responsible for overseeing the administrative and operational implementation of our verification engine. Your duties will include cross-referencing educational credentials and prior employment histories, as well as auditing criminal records and professional certifications. This ensures that every vetting file is meticulously accurate and free of errors.

As a process-integrity specialist, you recognize that even minor oversights can jeopardize a client’s security. You possess an unwavering attention to detail, a tenacious work ethic, and the ability to transform preliminary checks into precise, high-confidence verification reports—all while meeting stringent deadlines. If this describes you, you’re exactly the kind of professional we’re seeking.

What You’ll Do

Core responsibilities involve overseeing and executing verification operations with precision and efficiency. This includes managing verification processes, ensuring adherence to established protocols, and validating compliance with relevant standards. The role demands meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to maintain rigorous quality control throughout all stages of verification. Additionally, the position requires coordinating with cross-functional teams to align verification activities with broader operational objectives and regulatory requirements.

Oversee the entire background screening process, covering all stages from initiation to completion, such as validating educational credentials, confirming prior employment references, verifying residential history, and conducting credit history assessments.

The role involves conducting thorough audits of document authenticity, carefully examining and validating credentials submitted by candidates—such as certificates, transcripts, and identity documents—to identify discrepancies, missing information, or signs of forgery.

Field verification coordination involves managing and directing field verification officers or third-party agents to perform comprehensive physical address inspections, with an emphasis on expedited processing and the maintenance of data integrity.

Stakeholder Engagement & Network Management: Building and nurturing strategic relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and drive collaborative initiatives. This role involves identifying critical stakeholders, assessing their interests and influence, and developing tailored engagement strategies to foster trust, transparency, and mutual value. Additionally, the position requires maintaining and expanding a robust network of partners, industry leaders, and external organizations to enhance resource-sharing, innovation, and collective impact. Strong interpersonal skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence without direct authority are essential for success in this dynamic and multifaceted function.

As an Institutional Liaison, you will cultivate and sustain strong, professional partnerships with registries, corporate HR departments, law enforcement agencies, and academic institutions throughout Nigeria and internationally, with the goal of enhancing response efficiency.

Maintain professional, candidate-focused communication when collecting additional verification documents or addressing inconsistencies in their applications.

Ensuring adherence to quality standards, regulatory requirements, and compliance protocols is a key responsibility of this role. The position involves meticulous report generation, thorough data validation, and rigorous quality assurance processes to uphold organizational integrity. Additionally, the role demands a keen eye for detail to identify discrepancies, implement corrective measures, and maintain full compliance with industry-specific guidelines and internal policies. Strong analytical skills and a commitment to precision are essential to fulfill these obligations effectively.

Champion the creation of polished, evidence-based Verification Reports, emphasizing accuracy and thorough documentation. Ensure all findings, discrepancies, or potential red flags are recorded with meticulous clarity, precision, and supporting rationale for seamless client evaluation.

Actively oversee and manage the speed of all ongoing verification mandates by closely tracking and monitoring their progress. Identify institutional bottlenecks that may impede workflows and implement solutions to ensure adherence to client-specific service level agreements.

Ensure full adherence to the vetting process by strictly following KISS standard operating procedures, data privacy regulations—including the NDPR—and applicable legal compliance frameworks throughout the entire journey.
