Job Summary
Harvest Feeds and Ago Processing Ltd is seeking a skilled and proficient Utility Engineer to manage the operation, maintenance, and enhancement of utility systems across the facility. The preferred candidate should demonstrate advanced technical expertise in water treatment systems, boiler operations, and power generation and distribution, ensuring seamless and reliable plant performance.
Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of duties critical to the role’s success, including managing core operations, driving strategic initiatives, and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance efficiency, productivity, and compliance across all functional areas. Oversee the operation and upkeep of water treatment and distribution infrastructure to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and optimal system performance.
Ensure the safe and efficient operation of boiler systems by providing comprehensive oversight of their performance.
Oversee the operation of power generation and distribution systems to guarantee an uninterrupted flow of electricity.
Perform regular assessments and proactive maintenance on utility infrastructure to ensure optimal functionality and reliability.
Investigate and correct malfunctions affecting utility systems and operational disruptions as they arise.
Maintain adherence to all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and guidelines.
Accurately document all utility operations and maintenance activities to ensure comprehensive and reliable records are maintained.
Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to ensure seamless plant operations.
Explore avenues to enhance energy efficiency and reduce expenditures.
Seeking a candidate who meets the following qualifications: a minimum of five years of experience in a related field, proficiency in industry-standard software tools, and strong project management skills. The ideal applicant will possess excellent communication abilities to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders. Additionally, familiarity with regulatory compliance and a track record of delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines are essential.
A bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required.
With a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in utility management, ideally within a manufacturing or processing setting, you bring proven expertise to this role.
Individuals should possess hands-on expertise in water treatment systems, boiler operations, and power generation/distribution.
Proven ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently, with a sharp analytical mindset to identify root causes and implement effective solutions. Demonstrates adaptability in addressing complex challenges and a commitment to delivering timely resolutions.
Possesses a strong understanding of both preventive and corrective maintenance methodologies, including their implementation and optimization to ensure operational efficiency and minimize downtime. Demonstrates expertise in identifying potential equipment issues before they escalate and applying timely repairs to restore functionality, thereby enhancing overall system reliability and performance.
Proven capacity to manage and motivate teams while thriving in high-pressure environments is required.
Skilled in developing comprehensive technical reports and meticulous maintenance records is required.

Obtained professional engineering certification or holds active membership in a pertinent professional organization.
Professionals with a background in food processing, agricultural product refinement, or large-scale manufacturing operations will be considered for this role. Familiarity with production workflows, quality control protocols, and operational efficiencies within these sectors is essential.
Proficiency in energy management principles and optimization methodologies for utility systems is required.
