Job Summary
The Unit Head, Digital Marketing is responsible for developing and executing Wema Bank’s integrated digital marketing strategy to strengthen brand visibility, customer engagement, digital acquisition/adoption, and business growth across all digital channels.
The role provides strategic leadership for the Bank’s digital ecosystem, including website management, SEO, content marketing, performance marketing, digital campaigns, social media amplification, web analytics, marketing automation and digital customer experience.
Working closely with Brand, Corporate Communications, Product, Retail, Digital Banking, Commercial Banking, ALAT, SARA, SME Banking, Innovation etc, the role ensures that every digital initiative supports the Bank’s strategic priorities while delivering measurable business outcomes.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement the Bank’s enterprise-wide digital marketing strategy aligned with business objectives.
Lead integrated digital campaigns across paid, owned and earned media.
Own website strategy, governance, optimisation and customer experience.
Drive SEO, SEM and web optimisation initiatives.
Lead content marketing strategy in collaboration with Brand and Corporate Communications.
Manage performance marketing across Google, Meta, LinkedIn and other platforms.
Establish digital analytics dashboards and campaign reporting.
Drive marketing automation and CRM-enabled engagement initiatives.
Ensure regulatory compliance and brand consistency across digital platforms.
Lead and develop the Digital Marketing team while collaborating across business units.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Mass Communication, Business Administration or related discipline.
Master’s degree or MBA is an added advantage.
Professional certifications such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Blueprint, HubSpot, CIM or CDMP are desirable.
Experience:
6–8 years’ experience in Digital Marketing, Brand Marketing or Integrated Marketing Communications.
3–5 years in a leadership role.
2-5 years digital marketing agency experience
Experience within financial services or another regulated industry is an advantage.
