The position involves providing direct assistance to the Country Technical Director in managing the factory’s technical and production processes, serving as a critical deputy to maintain smooth daily manufacturing operations. This role is designed to cultivate and guide the individual toward assuming future responsibilities as a Technical Director, equipping them with the necessary skills and expertise to independently oversee a country-level technical function.
Oversee a comprehensive range of duties and responsibilities integral to the role, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational standards. Assist the Country Technical Director in developing and implementing operational strategies, policies, and procedures derived from the Group’s manufacturing framework at the factory level.
Support the Country Technical Director by developing and assessing capital expenditure investment proposals focused on machinery, site development, and automation infrastructure.
Support the Country Technical Director by overseeing daily production activities—such as planning, scheduling, and performance tracking—to ensure seamless operational execution.
Responsible for managing and facilitating engineering projects within the facility, such as equipment upgrades, process automation installations, and utilities management, while ensuring timely completion, adherence to budget constraints, and compliance with specifications.
Spearhead the implementation and integration of process automation technologies, significantly minimizing the need for manual oversight and intervention.
Drive forward research and development initiatives, as well as the creation of new products, directly at the manufacturing facility to enhance innovation and operational efficiency.
Support ongoing improvement efforts, waste reduction projects, and the adoption of lean manufacturing methodologies throughout the production facility.
Collaborate with the Group Technical Department and the Country Technical Director to identify, evaluate, and select suitable external contractors and machine vendors, ensuring alignment with project requirements and standards.
Collaborate effectively with the Country Technical Director to provide guidance, mentorship, and support in enhancing the capabilities of factory technical and production teams.
Serve as the primary liaison for the technical team in the absence of the Country Technical Director, maintaining seamless operational continuity.
Provide assistance to the Country Technical Director in the development and oversight of the factory’s yearly technical and production budget, monitoring financial outlays while ensuring adherence to Group financial policies and legal obligations.
Develop and sustain robust collaborative partnerships with factory personnel, Group technical teams, and essential external suppliers and regulatory authorities.
Prepare detailed and timely reports on the factory’s technical and production performance for the Country Technical Director, ensuring alignment with established Key Performance Indicators.
Leverage strong communication skills to engage with internal stakeholders regarding the implications of technical or process modifications on production and supply, while proactively suggesting solutions that uphold quality standards and cost efficiency.
Seeking a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, preferably coupled with 2–3 years of hands-on experience in a comparable role. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential, along with strong analytical abilities to assess complex data sets. Exceptional communication skills are required to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders. The ideal applicant will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field is required.
With at least five years of hands-on experience in the food industry, candidates should demonstrate a well-rounded background encompassing both engineering and production responsibilities.
Proficiency in fast-moving consumer goods or food production settings is a prerequisite for this role.
Requires proven practical expertise in food production methodologies, quality assurance protocols, and regulatory compliance frameworks, including HACCP, GMP, and ISO standards.
Proficiency in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), SCADA, process automation platforms, or industrial control systems is strongly preferred.
Proficiency in artificial intelligence, data analytics, or digital manufacturing solutions utilized within a production setting is considered a beneficial qualification.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is a fundamental requirement for effective group reporting and cross-border collaboration. Proficiency in French would be considered an advantageous skill.
Proficiency in computer systems is essential, encompassing strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
Experienced professionals should demonstrate a strong track record in overseeing engineering and production initiatives, fostering ongoing enhancements, and achieving measurable outcomes in a manufacturing environment.
Individuals should possess a comprehensive understanding of food science, food engineering, R&D methodologies, and production processes, with a strong technical foundation in these areas.
