The Sustainability Executive will facilitate the execution and oversight of the company’s sustainability strategy, prioritizing RPO compliance, ethical sourcing practices, and adherence to ESG standards. This position guarantees compliance with applicable regulations, certification requirements, and industry best practices throughout both operations and the supply chain.
Job Details
Implement and continuously enhance sustainability initiatives in strict compliance with the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RPO) Principles & Criteria.
Oversee the RPO certification process, including conducting surveillance audits and managing recertification activities.
Preserve and update RPO documentation, ensure accurate traceability records, and manage supply chain models for IP, SG, and MB operations.
Gather, evaluate, and present sustainability and ESG metrics, including GHG emissions, waste generation, water usage, and supply chain practices.
Facilitate the administration of grievance resolution processes, conduct comprehensive risk evaluations, and develop strategic corrective action plans (CAP’s) to address identified issues.
Collaborate with auditors, consultants, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to address sustainability-related concerns and initiatives.
Develop comprehensive sustainability reports and interactive dashboards for both internal stakeholders and external partners.
Facilitate the development and delivery of training programs to enhance employee understanding of RPO and sustainability standards, ensuring comprehensive awareness across the organization.
Facilitate employee education and engagement initiatives focused on sustainability programs to enhance organizational awareness and promote sustainable practices.
Monitor sustainability key performance indicators (KPIs) and propose strategic enhancements to optimize performance.
To remain abreast of sustainability trends, regulations, and best practices, continuous learning and awareness are essential.
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, with at least 3–5 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required, along with excellent communication and organizational abilities. The ability to work independently as well as in a team environment is necessary. Familiarity with project management principles and tools is a plus. Must be detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
A bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a closely related discipline is required for this position.
Proven track record with at least four years of expertise in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Energy Efficiency, Palm Plantation, or ESG consulting is required.
Proficiency in sustainability reporting frameworks, including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), IFC Performance Standards, Greenhouse Gas Protocol, CDP disclosures, and the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), is required.
Proven expertise in carbon accounting methodologies and the ability to accurately track and report emissions data is essential.
Accomplished professionals with a proven track record in cultivating community relations and fostering meaningful stakeholder engagement.
Candidates with a solid understanding of RPO standards and sustainability practices in palm plantations will be strongly preferred.
Exceptional proficiency in essential computer applications, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, is required.
