The Sustainability Executive will facilitate the execution and evaluation of the company’s sustainability strategy, prioritizing adherence to RPO compliance, ethical sourcing practices, and ESG criteria. This position guarantees conformity with applicable regulations, certification benchmarks, and industry-leading methodologies throughout operations and the supply chain.
Job Details
Facilitate the execution and ongoing enhancement of sustainability initiatives, in strict accordance with the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RPO) Principles & Criteria.
You will oversee the RPO certification process, including surveillance audits and recertification activities, ensuring compliance with all necessary standards and requirements.
Maintain documentation, traceability records, and supply chain models—including IP, SG, and MB—in accordance with RPO standards.
Gather, evaluate, and compile sustainability and ESG metrics, including greenhouse gas emissions, waste generation, water usage, and supply chain sourcing practices, to produce comprehensive reports.
Provide assistance in handling grievance procedures, conducting risk evaluations, and developing corrective action plans (CAP’s).
Collaborate with auditors, consultants, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to address sustainability-related initiatives and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Develop and compile both internal and external sustainability reports and dashboards to effectively communicate progress and performance metrics.
Facilitate employee training and awareness initiatives focused on RPO principles and sustainability standards.
Support the development and delivery of employee education and training initiatives focused on sustainability efforts.
Monitor and analyze sustainability key performance indicators, then propose strategic enhancements to drive continuous improvement.
Keep abreast of the latest developments in sustainability, including evolving regulations, industry trends, and emerging best practices to ensure alignment with current standards and innovations.
Requirements
A Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science or a closely related discipline is required.
A minimum of four years of professional experience in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Energy Efficiency, Palm Plantation, or ESG consulting is required.
Proficiency in established sustainability reporting frameworks, including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), IFC Performance Standards, Greenhouse Gas Protocol, Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), and Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), is required.
Proficient in carbon accounting methodologies and capable of accurately tracking emissions data.
Demonstrates a proven track record in fostering community connections and cultivating impactful stakeholder relationships.
Proficiency in RPO standards and sustainable practices within palm plantation operations is considered a valuable asset.
Exceptional proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, is essential for this role.
Candidates with supplementary sustainability training, relevant certifications, or prior hands-on experience in the field will be particularly well-suited for this role.
