The Problem We’re Solving:

Our ESG narrative lacks the precision and depth that our investors expect. Three critical gaps are impeding progress:

Governance reporting processes frequently encounter delays due to reliance on individuals who must pause to investigate information they should already possess with confidence.

Environmental Footprint: Currently insufficiently defined. Key factors such as soil health, water consumption, and input efficiency lack systematic organization at a large scale.

Social Metrics: The existing data on smallholder welfare and livelihoods is fragmented, failing to meet the structured standards expected by investors and donors.

We seek a candidate who possesses 70% of the necessary expertise from the outset and excels at developing scalable solutions to ensure the remaining 30% is resolved efficiently and without repetition.

We require the following outcomes: a measurable increase in [specific outcome, e.g., customer satisfaction, sales, efficiency], the successful implementation of [specific project or initiative], and the attainment of [specific KPI or goal]. Additionally, we expect the candidate to demonstrate proficiency in [relevant skill or tool], maintain compliance with [specific regulation or standard], and contribute to [team or organizational objective]. The ideal candidate will ensure timely delivery of projects, foster collaboration across departments, and uphold the highest standards of quality in all deliverables.

Prepare comprehensive investor and donor ESG reports from start to finish, ensuring each deliverable is completed independently, with precision, and by the established deadlines.

Develop a comprehensive ESG data infrastructure by integrating inputs from field operations, finance, and delivery systems, ensuring automation eliminates the need for manual follow-ups.

Create environmental metrics based on quantifiable indicators such as soil quality, water conditions, and resource inputs.

Enhance the monitoring of smallholder welfare by assessing livelihoods, promoting gender equality, and evaluating community impact.

Monitor and proactively track developments in Nigerian ESG regulations and frameworks, including GRI, SAS, and SDG alignment, to ensure organizational compliance and strategic advantage.

Serve as the organization’s primary source of internal ESG expertise, providing guidance and insights to colleagues seeking solutions.

In the initial 90 days, success will be demonstrated through a series of measurable achievements and seamless integration into the role. Key performance indicators will include mastering core responsibilities, establishing productive working relationships with colleagues, and demonstrating a thorough understanding of the company’s processes and objectives. Additionally, proactive engagement with stakeholders, timely completion of assigned tasks, and alignment with team and organizational goals will be critical to showcasing effectiveness. The ability to adapt quickly to feedback and contribute meaningfully to ongoing projects will further solidify success during this foundational period.

For a period of 30 days, you will dedicate time to comprehensively grasp the core principles, processes, and expectations associated with the role, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

Conduct a comprehensive audit of the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) gaps across all three pillars.

Developed a prioritized problem map to systematically address and resolve key issues.

This timeframe will involve organizing processes, setting measurable milestones, and ensuring alignment with overarching goals. The role will require meticulous planning, proactive problem-solving, and consistent evaluation to track development and refine strategies as needed.
