Role Description

A highly motivated Logistics Supervisor is needed to manage transportation, material handling, and supply chain operations between project sites and offices. The ideal candidate will ensure seamless execution of logistics activities, from material delivery to driver and equipment scheduling, while maintaining efficiency, safety, and strict adherence to project deadlines. This full-time, on-site role is based in Port Harcourt and seeks a driven professional committed to optimizing logistics and leading teams effectively.

Oversee and coordinate daily operations to ensure efficient workflow, maintain high standards of productivity, and meet organizational objectives. Develop and implement strategic plans, policies, and procedures to enhance performance and streamline processes. Monitor departmental activities, assess key performance indicators, and provide actionable insights to drive continuous improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align goals, resolve challenges, and foster a culture of accountability. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and quality standards while mitigating risks. Evaluate team performance, offer constructive feedback, and support professional development initiatives. Prepare and present reports to senior management, detailing progress, trends, and areas requiring attention.

Responsible for overseeing the daily allocation and scheduling of all transport vehicles, drivers, and heavy-duty equipment operators across various project sites.

Supply Chain Management: Oversee the transportation of materials from corporate headquarters to field sites, guaranteeing punctual arrivals and precise record keeping.

Operational Reporting: Validate and confirm the Equipment Utilization Reports provided by site personnel to guarantee precise monitoring of vehicle and operator efficiency.

Performance Monitoring: Conduct daily evaluations of logistics data to measure driver and equipment productivity, identifying operational inefficiencies for management review.

Enforce the company’s strict Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policy and verify that all logistics activities comply with site-specific safety regulations and applicable standards.

Act as the primary liaison between site clerks, the workshop, and head office to address and resolve logistical challenges and equipment downtime effectively.

Seeking a motivated candidate with a minimum of three years of experience in a comparable role, along with a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as business administration, finance, or accounting. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data interpretation are essential, as is the ability to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders at all levels. The ideal applicant will demonstrate adaptability in dynamic environments and a commitment to continuous professional development. Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities are required to meet project deadlines and prioritize tasks efficiently. Familiarity with industry-specific software and tools is a plus.
