The NEWS Reporter serves a critical function within the WANED Alert and Response Mechanism (WARM), responsible for collecting, verifying, and reporting accurate, timely, and credible data as part of the National Early Warning System (NEWS).

This role facilitates proactive measures to avert conflict, foster peace, and uphold accountability by converting grassroots data into timely, actionable early warning alerts.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Collect and verify data to ensure accuracy and reliability for analysis and reporting purposes.

Collect data from community monitors and additional sources to compile relevant information.

Ensure the accuracy and reliability of reports to prevent the dissemination of rumors or false alarms.

Maintain the precision, thoroughness, and punctuality of all data to ensure its reliability and relevance.

Overseeing reporting and analysis functions, this role involves compiling, interpreting, and presenting data to support strategic decision-making.
