Our client, a well-established cashew manufacturing firm boasting an extensive production infrastructure across Nigeria, is actively recruiting skilled and seasoned Shelling Machine Operators for prompt hire.
Oversee and execute core duties encompassing operational planning, team leadership, and strategic execution to ensure organizational objectives are achieved efficiently. Manage day-to-day activities with a focus on optimizing performance, fostering collaboration, and maintaining high standards of accountability. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance productivity and streamline workflows. Serve as a liaison between departments, stakeholders, and senior management to facilitate clear communication and alignment of goals. Monitor progress through performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and quality standards while promoting a culture of innovation and continuous development.
Operate shelling machines by feeding raw cashew nuts into the equipment and overseeing the shelling operation to ensure efficiency and quality.
Modify machine parameters—such as speed, pressure, and blade spacing—in accordance with nut dimensions to optimize kernel integrity and minimize breakage.
Perform thorough quality inspections of shelled kernels to detect any instances of breakage, shell residue, or other defects.
Responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving minor machine malfunctions, clearing paper or material jams, conducting regular cleaning of equipment, and escalating significant faults to the maintenance team for further attention.
Adhere to all established safety protocols and wear the necessary personal protective equipment, such as gloves, safety goggles, and hearing protection, at all times during operations.
Ensure daily production quotas are consistently met while keeping kernel breakage rates to a minimum.
Accurately document machine runtime, production output, downtime, and maintenance activities to ensure precise record-keeping.
Requirements
A minimum of two years of hands-on experience with shelling machines or comparable production equipment within a manufacturing setting is required.
Proficient in overseeing and fine-tuning machine parameters to optimize production efficiency.
Demonstrates meticulous focus on ensuring precision and excellence in all tasks performed.
Experienced in identifying and resolving technical issues, as well as performing routine upkeep on machinery.
Demonstrates a comprehensive grasp of workplace health and safety regulations and best practices.
Willingness to work in More-Ibafo, Gun State is required.
Compensation ranges from $120,000 to $150,000 annually.
