MAIN FUNCTIONS

Interpret and synthesize geological data to deliver comprehensive well-site geological support during oil field drilling operations. This entails optimizing horizontal wellborn placement, compiling final well reports, updating horizontal well cross-sections, generating maps, and conducting formation evaluation logs for both recent and previously drilled wells. Offer geological expertise to interdisciplinary teams engaged in reservoir studies and field development planning. Additionally, provide mentorship and development opportunities to less experienced staff.

The Well site Geologist plays a pivotal role in overseeing all geological personnel and operations at the well site, including mud logging, Logging While Drilling (LWD), Wirelike services, and core handling/processing. Additionally, this position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of all geological data acquisition and reporting.

Well site Geological Services involves on-site geological monitoring and data analysis to support drilling operations. This role requires expertise in interpreting geological formations, identifying potential hazards, and ensuring accurate wellborn positioning. Efficient distribution mechanisms must be employed to guarantee that reports reach authorized personnel promptly, facilitating informed decision-making and operational continuity.

Coordinate, oversee, and execute the Company’s well site geological operations, ensuring meticulous monitoring and administration of geotechnical activities throughout the drilling process.

Conducting meticulous pre-drill planning ensures optimal project execution by evaluating geological data, assessing operational risks, and establishing precise drilling parameters. This phase involves coordinating with geologists, engineers, and field teams to align strategies, secure necessary permits, and mitigate potential hazards before mobilization. Effective planning minimizes downtime, enhances safety protocols, and maximizes resource efficiency, ultimately contributing to the successful and timely completion of drilling operations.

Serves as the primary liaison for external geological service providers, facilitating communication and coordination between the organization and third-party vendors.

Monitor and oversee the collection and evaluation of geologic data at the well site, ensuring accurate acquisition and analysis. Facilitate the distribution of critical information to all relevant stakeholders in a timely manner. Requires proficiency in pressure monitoring tools, strong analytical skills, and the ability to interpret technical data. Additionally, collaborates with cross-functional teams to address pressure-related anomalies and maintain compliance with industry regulations. Must possess a technical background in engineering or a related field, along with relevant certifications and experience in pressure management systems.

Monitor all abnormal pressure parameters vigilantly, documenting observations in the pressure evaluation log and promptly reviewing findings with the Company Operations Geologist and Drilling Supervisors as necessary.

Compiling comprehensive reports entails generating and disseminating detailed analyses that include key parameters, empirical observations, and expert interpretations.

Seeking a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in software development. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is essential, alongside expertise in frameworks like Spring, Django, or .NET. Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in delivering high-quality, scalable solutions are required. Familiarity with DevOps practices, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and Agile methodologies is highly desirable. The ideal applicant will demonstrate leadership in cross-functional teams and a commitment to continuous learning and innovation.

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology from an accredited university is required.

Proficiency in mud logging, cuttings analysis, and real-time image log interpretation is essential for evaluating lithology and well trajectory alignment.
