About the Role
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience managing building projects from inception to completion. This role requires strong leadership, project management expertise, stakeholder coordination skills, and the ability to deliver projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of building and structural construction projects.
Manage site-based teams, including Project Engineers, Site Engineers, Architects, Quantity Surveyors, Supervisors, and Subcontractors.
Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, cash flow forecasts, and resource allocation plans.
Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
Drive adherence to Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) standards across all project activities.
Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to mitigate delays and cost overruns.
Coordinate with clients, consultants, regulatory authorities, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Manage subcontractor performance, project variations, claims, and contract administration activities.
Review and approve project reports, work programs, procurement schedules, and technical submissions.
Ensure proper project documentation, testing, commissioning, handover, and close-out procedures.
Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to project teams to achieve operational excellence.
Requirements
Bachelor’s/Masters Degree (B.Sc./B.Eng) in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 10 years’ proven construction experience, with substantial experience managing large-scale building projects.
Demonstrated experience delivering residential, commercial, industrial, mixed-use, or institutional developments.
Professional certifications such as COREN, PMP, MNSE, NIOB, ARCON, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project controls, contract administration, and construction regulations.
Excellent knowledge of project planning, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and cost control.
Proficiency in project management and reporting tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, Revit, Power BI, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage multiple project teams and deliver results in a fast-paced construction environment.
