This position is a full-time, site-based role for a Production Manager located in Abeokuta.
The Production Manager will be responsible for directing daily manufacturing activities, guaranteeing that production goals are achieved in a safe, efficient manner while adhering to established quality benchmarks and regulatory mandates.
Responsibilities encompass designing and implementing efficient production schedules, strategically allocating necessary resources, overseeing the work of production personnel, and consistently evaluating the functionality and performance of equipment.
This position entails establishing and sustaining Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) while spearheading ongoing improvement efforts. Additionally, it requires close collaboration with quality assurance, research and development, supply chain, and maintenance teams to ensure operational excellence and compliance.
The Production Manager is responsible for generating production reports, overseeing the inventory of both raw materials and finished products, facilitating audits and inspections, and cultivating a workplace environment that prioritizes safety, teamwork, and responsibility on the production floor.
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is required for this role. Applicants should possess a minimum of three years of relevant experience in financial analysis, reporting, or auditing. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, or similar financial software is essential. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are necessary to ensure accuracy in financial data interpretation. Excellent communication abilities are required to present findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Candidates must demonstrate problem-solving capabilities and a commitment to maintaining high ethical standards in financial practices.
Proven expertise in production planning, scheduling, and workflow optimization, coupled with a strong capacity to prioritize tasks and consistently deliver within established deadlines.
Seasoned professional with a proven track record in leading manufacturing personnel, delivering precise guidance, mentoring team members, and conducting thorough performance evaluations.
Demonstrates a comprehensive grasp of pharmaceutical manufacturing operations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), fundamental quality control methodologies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Proficient in utilizing production management tools, conducting fundamental data analysis, and generating reports to monitor efficiency, yield, and downtime.
Proven expertise in problem-solving and decision-making, demonstrated through the ability to discern root causes and apply corrective and preventive measures effectively.
Proven ability to communicate effectively and build strong interpersonal relationships is essential for collaborating with diverse teams and engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrates a steadfast dedication to maintaining a secure work environment, with a proven track record of developing, implementing, and enforcing comprehensive safety protocols and staff training initiatives.
A Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Production Management, or a closely related discipline is required; advanced qualifications are preferred.
Highly desirable is prior experience within pharmaceutical, ago-pharmaceutical, or related process manufacturing environments.
Proven capability to perform duties on-site in Abeokuta, maintain consistent attendance, and thrive in a high-pressure, goal-oriented manufacturing environment.
