As Group Legal Counsel within the East & North Africa legal team, you will oversee legal matters spanning commercial contracts, corporate and regulatory issues, data protection, competition law, intellectual property, sanctions and trade controls, and dispute resolution across designated territories. In this role, you will collaborate extensively with business and legal stakeholders to manage high-value customer and supplier agreements, strategic partnerships, corporate transactions, governance initiatives, and advisory engagements.
As a member of the Customer Unit East & North Africa legal team, you will report directly to the Head of Legal for Customer Unit East & North Africa. This role will be stationed within one of the territories throughout the specified region.
What You’ll Do
Serve as a reliable legal advisor, offering pragmatic and strategic counsel that aligns with corporate goals and facilitates seamless deal execution.
Orchestrate and facilitate high-level discussions to finalize intricate customer, supplier, and partnership agreements.
Identify, evaluate, and address legal and operational risks to support organizational growth and strategic transformation.
Provide guidance on corporate governance, ensuring adherence to regulatory compliance, competition law, data protection, intellectual property, and trade control regulations.
Develop and maintain robust relationships with various business units, functions, and geographic regions to enhance collaboration and ensure transparency.
Drive capability development by providing coaching, mentoring, and knowledge transfer, while implementing best-practice initiatives to enhance team performance and expertise.

What You’ll Bring
A seasoned legal professional with a minimum of seven years of distinguished experience in a prominent law firm or a multinational corporate legal department is sought.
Proven expertise in commercial, corporate, regulatory, and compliance-related issues is essential.
Demonstrates a strong track record in managing intricate contractual agreements, facilitating negotiations, and overseeing international business operations.
Demonstrates exceptional business insight alongside the capacity to effectively weigh legal risks against commercial goals.
Proven ability to communicate effectively, negotiate successfully, and manage stakeholder relationships with professionalism and diplomacy.
Demonstrated capability to operate autonomously while effectively engaging and persuading key decision-makers in varied professional settings.
Proficiency in the technology or telecommunications industry would be beneficial.
