Job Summary
The HR Supervisor will manage daily human resources, payroll, and administrative functions at the manufacturing facility. This position ensures precise and prompt payroll processing, optimizes HR operations, maintains strong employee relations, upholds labor law compliance, and streamlines administrative tasks to sustain seamless production and foster a productive workplace.
Oversee and execute a range of critical duties encompassing project management, team leadership, and operational efficiency improvements. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance productivity, ensuring alignment with organizational goals while fostering a collaborative work environment. Conduct regular performance evaluations, identify skill gaps, and provide targeted training to support team development and career progression. Liaise with cross-functional departments to streamline workflows, resolve bottlenecks, and maintain seamless communication channels. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess progress, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement in processes and outcomes. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards through diligent oversight and proactive risk management.
The Human Resources and Payroll departments are responsible for overseeing a wide range of critical functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compensation management, compliance with labor laws, payroll processing, tax filing, and maintaining accurate personnel records. These roles require a deep understanding of HR policies, payroll systems, and regulatory requirements, along with strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Key responsibilities involve managing employee onboarding and offboarding, processing payroll accurately and timely, resolving payroll discrepancies, ensuring data confidentiality, and supporting HR initiatives such as performance evaluations and policy development. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in HR software, payroll platforms, and Microsoft Office applications, as well as the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Oversee routine human resources functions such as monitoring employee attendance, coordinating shift schedules, handling leave requests, and maintaining personnel records.
Compile and oversee monthly payroll data by gathering attendance records, overtime hours, deductions, allowances, and statutory contributions.
Maintain precise payroll processing, uphold strict confidentiality standards, and ensure salaries are disbursed promptly in accordance with established company policies and procedures.
Oversee statutory payroll responsibilities, including PAYE, pension contributions, and other mandated deductions.
Oversee the planning and execution of recruitment initiatives tailored to factory, technical, and administrative positions.
Facilitate and oversee performance management activities such as employee appraisals, confirmation reviews, and disciplinary measures to ensure alignment with organizational standards and expectations.
Manage employee relations, including addressing grievances and resolving disciplinary matters on the shop floor.
Ensure adherence to all applicable Nigerian labor laws, internal company policies, and factory-specific regulations at all times.
Responsible for ensuring the precision and integrity of all human resources and payroll documentation and reports.
Oversee daily administrative functions encompassing office administration, facility upkeep, and vendor management.
Oversee a team comprising administrative personnel and support staff, including security personnel, janitorial teams, and drivers.
Manage the procurement and inventory of office and factory consumables to ensure seamless operations.
Oversee the meticulous upkeep and accurate documentation of company assets to ensure optimal functionality and accountability at all times.
Oversee the planning and execution of transportation arrangements, training sessions, meetings, and lodging accommodations for staff as required.
Collaborate effectively with production supervisors to guarantee sufficient staffing levels and seamless shift coverage.
Track attendance patterns, absenteeism rates, and overtime hours to effectively manage and reduce payroll expenditures.
Ensure strict adherence to factory regulations, safety protocols, and hygiene standards essential for the production of diapers and sanitary pads.
Facilitate strategic workforce planning and lead initiatives aimed at optimizing staff costs to enhance organizational efficiency and financial performance.
Seeking candidates with a minimum of three years of relevant experience along with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required. Experience with project management methodologies and team leadership is highly desirable. Knowledge of compliance regulations and data security protocols is an asset.
A bachelor’s degree in human resources, industrial relations, business administration, or an equivalent discipline is required.
Four years of relevant HR operations, payroll administration, and supervisory experience is the minimum requirement.
A background in manufacturing or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environments would be advantageous.
Proficient in Nigerian labor laws and payroll regulations with a thorough understanding of compliance requirements.
Proficiency in human resources management within an industrial manufacturing environment is required.
Demonstrates exceptional proficiency in organizing tasks and maintaining meticulous documentation with precision and clarity.
Required is a strong aptitude for handling sensitive and proprietary data with utmost discretion and care.
