Oversee a comprehensive range of duties critical to the role’s success, including executing strategic initiatives, managing key projects, and ensuring seamless collaboration across departments. Serve as a primary point of contact for cross-functional teams, facilitating clear communication and alignment with organizational objectives. Analyze performance metrics to identify trends, optimize processes, and drive continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will undertake the following duties and responsibilities:

Prepares periodic financial and management reports. Processes financial transactions and reconciliations. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of BPP financial requirements for government contracts.

Prepare financial documentation for fundraising rounds, grant applications, and investor due diligence, including budgets, forecasts, and financial projections. Develop and execute budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes to support organizational objectives and decision-making.

Responsible for overseeing cash flow management and treasury operations to ensure financial stability and liquidity.

Maintaining adherence to tax obligations, statutory mandates, and regulatory standards is essential to ensure full compliance with all applicable legal frameworks.

Providing assistance to both internal and external audit functions, this role involves establishing and sustaining robust internal control mechanisms.

Provides support to leadership by conducting financial analysis and preparing decision-support reports.

We seek a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, along with a minimum of three years of professional experience in a comparable role. Proficiency in project management software and advanced Excel skills are required, while familiarity with industry-specific tools is considered a strong asset. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities are essential for success in this position.

Applicants are required to demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a closely related field is required.

A minimum of three to four years of relevant professional experience is required.

A professional accounting certification, such as ICAN, ARCA, ACA, or ATS, would be considered advantageous.

Proficient in accounting principles, financial reporting, taxation, and regulatory compliance with strong expertise in these areas. Demonstrated skill in utilizing Microsoft Excel and various accounting software applications effectively.

Proven expertise in overseeing financial operations for multiple entities or project-based initiatives is required.

Demonstrates expertise in financial management and procurement processes governed by contract-based frameworks.

Proficiency in donor compliance frameworks, such as those of the World Bank or AFDB, is considered a valuable asset.

Demonstrates exceptional analytical abilities, adept problem-solving capabilities, and proficiency in financial modelling.
